Come And Talk 2 Me

Join us this week as we get to know Jim from Atlanta, a Blondie fan who accidentally fell in love Matt's other band, Princess Goes. We find out his favourite show memory, what happens when he's approached by weird women in hotels, and just why Beija makes Jim so emotional (spoiler alert: because she's magic). Join us this week as we talk with Sarah and Paolo from Turbogoth, the band who recently supported Princess Goes on their August 2024 US tour, never mind the numerous NY gigs over the years. We sat down with them to find out where it all started, how they got on the radar with Princess, and what the bands learned from each other on the road. We talked tattoos, pumpkin soup and finding the right person to share your music tastes with. Also a trigger warning as we talk about grief, abusive relationships and healing from emotional trauma.

Have you ever wondered about those very early gigs, where the band were experimenting with their sound and finding their feet? We're joined by Rockin' Robyn and Famous David to talk about those songs that never made it past the pandemic, in the hope that they spark some new love. From Persephone to Epic Pedro, there's something for everyone in this eclectic mix, and we can only keep our fingers crossed that they reappear on a set list near you some time soon.

Have you listened to the new Come of Age (Deluxe) album yet? We thought it would be fun to give it a go and talk through our thoughts on the reworked songs, known as the Echo Mountain Sessions remixes, and then we thought it would be even more fun to talk with Peter Yanowitz about how and why the remixes were made! This one is definitely worth a listen..

Firstly, there's a date error in this episode. The album referenced drops Sept 13th, NOT 21st! Ok, back to the show...or shows! We did it again, we went on a mini adventure around the US with Princess Goes, and then gathered the masses to tell you all about it. From NY to Chicago and all the places in between, we drove around hurricanes, ate cake for breakfast, and most importantly had our faces melted off every night as we attended each gig. Join us to find out which 'Princess' has a hug to die for, who got 'car-washed' by a member of the band once, and why its important to always have a plan B (no, not that kind!)

In this episode we have a returning guest, Famous David, who helps us deep dive into his favourite Princess Goes song...the mesmerising Glasswing. Ever wondered how many butterflies are mentioned in the song? We got you. We may not be able to tell you the meaning behind the lyrics but they have us spinning to the rhythm of the moon.

Did you think they were singing about kissing in Portuguese? Well, it turns out they were singing about the outrageously talented Beija Flo, a British artist who joined Princess Goes on both the 2021 and 2023 UK tours. Join us as we learn where her name came from, why it's a silly idea to carry giant keyboards on your back in heavy snowfall, and exactly why the band decided to write one of their best songs all about her. I don't know about her blush but ours was definitely riding high on this day.

This week we're joined by Nora, the fan who has travelled the furthest to see Princess Goes perform. Not only has she been around since almost the inception of the band, she has travelled halfway around the world to enjoy their shows. We talk to her about her favourite songs and why you should start bringing a sofa with you to the shows (spoiler: it's not to sit on!).

Much like Bilbo Baggins as he skipped out of the Shire, we went off on a mini adventure across Europe this week to see Princess Goes making their debuts in Prague and Vienna. Join us as we talked pastries, had Mike confirm the mystery word from Love American Style, and interviewed an alien called Pink Mario! Talk about a packed and fun-filled week...we're still recovering!

Ever wondered who has made the most Princess Goes music videos? If you guessed Peter's brother Andy, you'd be right. This week we caught up with him to chat Eat An Eraser, Blur and many more, learning where he got his inspiration from for each, and whether or not the loveable-ness is genetic. Spoiler: it is. You don't want to miss this one.
