An American comedy duo, Burns and Allen, was George Burns and his wife and partner, Gracie Allen. In September 1934, their 30-minute radio program premiered as The Adventures of Gracie, whose name changed to The Burns and Allen Show in 1936. From 1936 till 1950, the series switched back and forth between NBC and CBS until it was canceled. Burns and Allen reemerged on television with a successful situation comedy from 1950 to 1958.

Plot

The men will be expected to grow beards and dress as if it were 1870 at Gracie's Suprise Party's Omaha convention. Gracie practices her speech for her upcoming appearance in Dallas. "When The Sweet Potato Piper Plays," she sings. With Gracie and Frank Parker remarking on George's attire, he doesn't stand a chance. "I've worn this suit out in many places," George says, to which Gracie responds, "Yeah, I can see the places!"

"My, My," Gracie sings. So, what are we going to talk about tonight? Gracie asks George, shall we talk about you or something interesting? Let's talk about George Gracie, shall we? "So tell me about yourself, and what do you think of how I upset them last week in the Wisconsin Primary?"

Gracie explains how she came up with her platform. It includes giving a live sheep to student barbers. They can write their diploma on the sheepskin after learning to shave the sheep. "Vote For Gracie," sung by Gracie and the cast (including Truman Bradley), is a campaign song. Gracie Allen is running for president, but she didn't get much work done last night because her uncle had run off with the maid, so her aunt and butler went to see a movie! Gracie tells the story in her innocent way, which is hilarious.

The convention for Gracie's Suprise Party will be held in Omaha. One commercial has been removed in which Gracie sings her campaign song, "Vote For Gracie." Gracie has just returned from Washington, where she was a special guest at the annual dinner of the women's national press clubs, and George has just returned from the opening of a meat market! Gracie then retells the story of her dinner in Washington in her own warm and witty way. Songs and orchestral music are also available.
