  • Repacked With Power
The robot that can change itself.
Welcome back to another day of Odd News! This time, we're talking about a new robot that could change everything we know about our humanoid companions.
What's a robot to do when it runs out of power? You'd think the answer would be simple. But for this new robot, it's a bit more complicated. And a lot more creepy. And while this new feature ensures that the robot can keep going, it also has a pretty funny flaw. You'll have to listen to find out what it is!
We also continue to celebrate the Platinum Anniversary of comedy4cast (PAC), with classic clips from the past 20 years. Today's classic clip is from November of 2011. In this one, Danny Hillcrest takes his video-saving efforts to a ridiculous new extreme. Well, actually, for Danny, this is a pretty standard level of ridiculous. Listen in to find out just what video he's so desperately trying to protect!

  • All The Right Angles
Engineers take a turn for the worse.
In today's edition of Odd News PAC, we're talking about all the things that can make a daily commute a little more interesting, or in some cases, a lot more confusing. And one new bridge, in particular, has taken road hazards to a whole new level. There are plenty of design choices here that will leave you scratching your head. And gripping the steering wheel! The details are so wild, you'll have to hear the full story for yourself.
Then, as we continue our celebration of 20 years of comedy4cast, we once again dig into the archives. Today's classic clip is from October 2011. Clinton brings in a memory expert to help him with his name-remembering skills. But rather than begin right away, Clinton first has the teacher try to help Cap, the Venus Arms Hotel & Towers old-as-dirt Bell Captain, improve his Swiss cheese memory. It’s a great example of the kind of confusion we specialize in here at comedy4cast.
Hit the play button to get the full story on the bridge, and to hear what happens when a so-called memory expert meets his match!

  • The Long Rest
A road trip so good, it's forgettable.
A family road trip is the perfect way to make lasting memories. And in today's Odd News PAC story, a Parisian man certainly made some, although perhaps not the kind his family was hoping for. When a quick pit stop turns into a five-hour ball of confusion, we can only hope the rest of their trip went better. Listen for all the hilarious details.
This is just one of many strange-but-true stories we're bringing you this month. Plus, we're celebrating the platinum anniversary of comedy4cast, or PAC for short, by capping off each episode with a classic clip. In this edition, we'll take you back to 2011, where Derrick and Rory discuss Android phones and a whole lot more. It will leave you questioning everything you know about technology.
Whether you're curious about a road trip from hell or how many things can fall between other things, this episode has it all. So don't be left behind. Get on board, and let's go!

Finally, a snack that's shockingly good.
In this installment of our Odd News series, we're zapping our way back in time to an unforgettable childhood experience. You know the one: that moment you did something your parents would have been horrified by, just to see what would happen. It's a story that involves the creation of a new snack. One that will please your taste buds. Or at least the tip of your tongue. We'll dive into the curious origins of this snack's inspiration and discover the secret behind its electrifying taste.
And speaking of things that stand the test of time, we're celebrating our 20th anniversary all month long! For our classic clip this episode, we're rolling back the clock to 2010 for a clip from an episode titled, "Celebrating 5 years of not being featured on iTunes." It was a star-studded affair with fellow podcasting pioneers Brian Ibbott, Dan Klass, and C.C. Chapman bursting in to offer their unique brand of congratulations. It's a chaotic, hilarious look back at a simpler time in podcasting history.
So grab your headphones and get ready for a trip down memory lane, whether it's through a shocking new snack or a classic comedy4cast moment.

  • The Scarlett Speaker
These wolves seem uninterested in marriage.
Hello, comedy4cast listeners and odd news enthusiasts! We're back with another installment in our month-long look at strange-but-true stories. This time, we're heading to the ranchlands of the American West, where a surprisingly modern solution is being used to solve a very old problem.
When a rancher's cattle are being targeted by wolves, what's a person to do? The U.S. Department of Agriculture has an idea. And a high-tech one at that! This episode dives into the details of this high-flying approach to wildlife management.
What's involved? Let's just say that these wolves are about to get an earful. You'll have to listen to find out just what kind of auditory assault these drones are bringing to the battle.
After our main story, we're taking a trip back to the archives for our Platinum Anniversary (PAC) clip. This one is from an April 18, 2009 episode and features the one and only Jake Filbuster attempting to give a simple, straightforward commentary on a hot topic: Zombies.
Jake has some very strong, very hilarious opinions on the living dead and why they may not be right for today's fast-paced world. Whether you're a long-time listener or this is your first time hearing Jake's unique brand of commentary, it's a classic that's not to be missed.
So, click that "play" button and tune in to hear tales of tech and zombies. All in one show!

  • Blue Pizza
    An emotional slice of life.
Today is #PizzaFriday, which means today's Odd News PAC story will cover another bizarre report involving our favorite food.
We've all been there. The perfect pizza arrives, a cheesy, glorious beacon of happiness. But what if that slice of joy brought tears instead of a smile? And how is that even possible?
We'll take a deep dish dive into a survey that reveals a surprising, and frankly, emotional, side of America's relationship with pizza. This is one pairing that might list its status as 'It's complicated." Find out what the problem is and some cheerful advice on how to patch things up with our pizza pies.
Then, to celebrate our Platinum Anniversary (PAC!), we take a trip down comedy4cast memory lane. Today's classic clip is a fan favorite: a look back at some of the many, many corrections and apologies that we have had to make.

  • Looking Into The Pillow Case
Don't lose sleep over this one.
Welcome back to Day 5 of the Dog Days of Podcasting! This month, we're bringing you a new episode every day, featuring a bizarre-but-true Odd News story and a classic clip from the comedy4cast archives.
In this edition of "Odd News PAC," we're talking about a travel hack that's taking to the skies. Are you tired of paying those pesky and expensive airline baggage fees? Well, some savvy travelers have found a loophole. It turns out that while most airlines limit you to a carry-on and a personal item, a travel pillow might be your new luggage best friend.
Of course, this hack isn't without its risks. As we discuss in the episode, getting caught could lead to a less-than-glamorous exit from your flight.
To celebrate the Platinum Anniversary of comedy4cast (or PAC), we're also taking a trip down memory lane! In a classic clip from May 2007, Clinton dives into the absurdity of things randomly being declared "official". Prepare to have your mind blown when you find out what comedy4cast is the Official Podcast of.
Tune in to hear the full story and relive a moment of comedy4cast history!

  • Türkiye Loaf
Sandwiching in a story about bread.
We're already a few days into our month of Odd News PAC stories for the Dog Days of Podcasting, and today we're serving up something truly stale. But in a good way!
In this edition, we're slicing into the baffling tale of a 5,000-year-old loaf of bread unearthed by archaeologists in Türkiye. And there's no doubt about it, this is one mysterious loaf. Who baked it? Why was it buried under the entrance to a house? Was it part of an ancient ritual? So many questions. You'll have to listen to find out what rye comments Clinton will make about this very odd discovery.
But that's not all! As we continue to celebrate the Platinum Anniversary of comedy4cast, we're looking back at some of our favorite moments. This episode features a classic clip from 2006 with a skit that finds Clinton answering listener emails, with the help of fellow podcasters. It's a hilarious look back at a much simpler time in podcasting.
So, why wheat? Press play and let us know: Would you try a slice of 5,000-year-old bread?
