In this week’s double episode season premiere, we meet two incredible women who meant every word when they repeated at the alter, they will love and cherish their husband in sickness and in health. They share their unimaginable journeys as caregivers and share with us how they turned their pain into purpose.
In today’s Part 2 episode, we meet Meriam Boldewijn. After her husband’s multiple surgeries and organ transplants, Meriam was burnt out in her role as caregiver. Years later, her brother called her unable to speak audibly, when she realized he was having a stroke. Feeling the unbalanced shift of emotional trauma and compassion fatigue repeat again, she decided to invest in herself and created a system to stay in power and in harmony. While building a community, she created Caregiver 2.0, helping other caretakers understand that they are not alone in their journey.
