When the universe hands you the hardest storyline you've ever faced, you either crumble or you rise. And actor, writer, director, and full-on superhero Erik Jensen didn't just rise he soared. Fresh off his battle and successful treatment for colorectal cancer, Erik sat down with the Comic Crusaders Podcast to share one of the most powerful, uplifting stories you'll hear all year.

His secret weapon during treatment? Not a mystical artifact. Not a Hollywood miracle. Comic books. The classics. The comfort reads. The heroes that held his hand through chemo and fear and uncertainty. Reconnecting with his old collection became a lifelineand now he's paying that love forward by selling those beloved books to support children battling cancer at Sloan Kettering. That's heroism with heart, Brooklyn level grit, and big WEPA energy all rolled together.

But the journey doesn't end there. His new film, Brooklyn, Minnesota, where he stars alongside his daughter and legend Amy Madigan, is winning awards across the festival circuit. It's a raw, emotional, beautifully crafted story about family, identity, and healing. The movie proves what we already know: Erik Jensen's storytelling hits straight to the soul.

This conversation is powerful, funny, deep, vulnerable, and absolutely unforgettable. And if you don't walk away inspired, check your pulse your battery might be low.

In this episode, your fearless host Al Mega cracks open the world of public education like a busted locker after 7th periodwith a whole lotta laughs, truth bombs, and soul. He's joined by the sharp-witted and truth-telling T.C. Moth, author of the breakout book Curriculum: A Texas Teacher Tale, a satirical yet painfully real journey through the heart (and heartbreak) of teaching in the Lone Star State.

This ain't your grandma's teacher memoirthis book reads like if The Office, Abbott Elementary, and Waiting for Superman had a lovechild… in a teacher's lounge… during standardized testing week.

Whether you're a teacher, a student, a parent, or someone who barely made it through algebra this interview hits home. T.C. speaks for the overworked and underpaid with humor and heat. And Al? He turns the volume up to "detention-level loud" while keeping it realer than a surprise pop quiz on a Friday.

Curriculum: A Texas Teacher Tale is a sharp, satirical, and heartfelt glimpse into the soul of modern education. It pulls no punches, shows no mercy to bureaucracy, and still manages to celebrate the magic of teaching. A must-read for anyone who's ever held a red pen or tried to teach through a fire drill.

Medieval arrives from Comixology Originals with the force of a warhammer crashing into a castle gate. Writer Neil Kleid and artist/colorist Alex Cormack bring an intensity, world-building sharpness, and visual brutality rarely seen in modern fantasy comics. We sat down with the creative team for a high-energy, WEPA-fueled conversation about forging this new world and the personal journeys that brought them here.

Kleid brings narrative precision, emotional tension, and the grounded realism that makes the world of Medieval feel lived-inand dangerous. Cormack amplifies every page with gritty textures, kinetic movement, and color choices that plunge readers directly into the story's chaos and atmosphere.

Throughout the interview, the creators discussed not only the craft behind the book, but the emotional stakes, risks, and collaborative chemistry that shaped it. From humorous behind-the-scenes stories to unexpected creative challenges, Medieval reflects two creators pushing themselves into new artistic territory.

Whether you're a longtime fan of fantasy comics or discovering genre-bending work for the first time, Medieval is a standout release that demands attention.

Matthew Arnold, the television and film writer known for NBC's Siberia, Emerald City, and the thriller Shadow People, returns to the world of comics with Outer Lands, his newest sci-fi graphic novel from Comixology Originals. Featuring art by Davide Gianfelice and a powerful cover by Jock, this graphic novel delivers a genre-defying mashup that collides ancient history with modern weaponry, conspiracy, and the dangers of unchecked technology.

In Outer Lands, a young Grecian prince is exiled to a mysterious prison island, only to uncover a global secret that reshapes everything he believes. What begins as a sweeping historical epic rapidly evolves into a post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller. The story asks timely questions about artificial intelligence, nuclear anxiety, the allure of nostalgia, and the cost of resisting technological change.

During our conversation on the Comic Crusaders Podcast, Arnold dives deep into the creative process behind Outer Lands, the artistic chemistry with Gianfelice, and how Jock's visual energy sets the tone from the cover onward. With unexpected twists, bold world-building, and razor-sharp relevance, Outer Lands stands as one of the most exciting upcoming releases in the Comixology Originals lineup.
