God has the ability to provide you and me with unlimited doses of unmerited favor. And he does. It's an absolute gift. But speaking of gifts…
How are you using yours?
In today's 5 Minute Drill, I'm going to talk about stewardship. This is another one of those things in life that we hear a lot about, but most people gloss over. I know I glossed over it for years. If I'm not careful, I still get caught in the gloss over trap. The reality is, we're called to steward more than our money and, when we do, we experience more favor and more blessing.
If you want more favor and blessing in your life and career, then make sure to lock in to today's Drill.

How awesome does it feel when you give someone a gift and they light up like a Christmas tree? It's a great feeling, isn't it?
What I've found on my journey and walking alongside other successful people, is that when we look at our unique gifts solely as the medium to income and success…that's when the door to frustration, overwhelm, and burnout opens wide.
You don't buy someone a gift and then give it to yourself, do you? That would be weird. But the reality is, we're doing exactly that when we're focusing on what our God-given gifts and talents can do for us, not for others.
In today's episode of Coming Up Clutch™️ with J.R., I summarize the Top 3 nuggets from Monday's interview with entrepreneur and Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Willie Shaw. We talked about fulfillment and how it comes more often when we're using our gifts to bless others.

I had the privilege of sitting down with the incredibly talented Willie Shaw, a Nashville-based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and former Maroon 5 team manager. Willie opened up about his journey from Division 1 student-athlete to successful musician, emphasizing the importance of mastering his craft and the caution that comes with pursuing mentors. He also shared how embracing love, grace, and open-mindedness helped him when his plans didn't seem to align with God's.
During our very real conversation, Willie revealed how he found success in the music industry by seeking out mentorship and being brutally honest with his community. This approach allowed him to build relationships and find support, which ultimately led to opportunities to open for acts like Sammy Hagar, Old Dominion, and Brantley Gilbert. We also dug into Willie's struggles with performance-based identity, relationships, and anger, and how his faith played a significant role in overcoming these challenges.
To top it all off, we explored Willie's upcoming album, which captures the spirit of the American Southwest with influences from Laurel Canyon and the Eagles. If you're a fan of that era of music and songwriting, you won't want to miss this episode. So, tune in and let Willie help you learn valuable life lessons from his inspiring journey.

For so many years, I made God's vision for my life and career my idol. I admit, I loved the vision He gave me more than God himself. That's a problem…a BIG problem.
Ever been accused of having an agenda? Ever been around people who seem to always have an agenda?
I ask because I had to get slapped upside my figurative head about this. Now, I could always discern who loves their vision more than God. It's pretty obvious because their agenda oozes out of them.
In today's 5 Minute Drill, I'm going to get real about agendas and our motives with others. Stop lying to yourself - we're all guilty of having an agenda - at home, in our professional lives, in random conversations…everywhere. And I had a recent epiphany that I want to share with you that I turned into a Drill.
If you want to make sure you're putting yourself in the best possible position to influence and attract people who can accelerate you, then make sure to lock in to today's Drill.

You've done it. I've done it. You know…
Said the wrong thing at the wrong time (or, didn't say anything at all).
Think back to those moments for a second - what did it cost you?
Bottom line, poor communication leads to poor results - in sports, business, and life.
