Commander ad Populum

This week, I touch on a few difficult situations I've been thrust into recently. From a tough game at the LGS tova flooded basement! I discuss how Magic and the format of Commander have equipped me with the mental skills to deal with, and overcome, adversities.

I expand on last week's pet deck episode. Why can't we take pet decks apart? What are the things that force us to keep them together? Good times? Game interactions? Special memories? Come hear what I think, with input from those around the Commander ad Populum community.

What makes a forever deck? What makes a pet deck? Are they the same thing? I aim to answer these questions and more on this week's CadPopCast.

Additionally, I ask for some input on a new project. Come listen and find out what I'm up to next!

The guilt of winning in Commander has become a hot button topic on many fronts since the Rule Zero era began. With cEDH being considered its own format by many Commander aficionados, it's hard for some to distinguish what is OK and what isn't, with regards to pre-game conversations, deck power disclosure and eventually attempting to win the game. I aim to tackle all of that and more, this week on Commander ad Populum.

This week, I look at my last four personal decks and discuss how they present a unique challenge for my opponents, when it comes to threat assessment. I wonder at why the deck that people tell me they like the least is the deck that gets left alone the longest, and vise versa. It's an interesting way to conclude our discussion on threat assessment in Commander.

This week, I continue my discussion on Threat assessment in Commander with community-based input and testimonials. Additionally, I categorize my decks into how I think they should be assessed for threat, in game, and comment on whether those decks care if my opponents think they're the threat... Some really good Commander theory discussion this week!

How far can we push our strategy before we are considered too big of a threat in a game of Commander? When do we cross the line and end up doing more harm than good by being 'too powerful'? I aim to answer those questions when I talk all about the threat assessment threshold in CadPop 231. Join me.

It's hard to tell when little improvements are made, over time. This is true with any skill or game we endeavor to improve upon. This week, I use some examples from real life and apply them to MTG and vise versa. Join me!

It's all one giant MagicCon Philadelphia recap this week. The good, the improvements, the bad, the ugly. With the help of a few listeners in attendance, I go deep on all that was MTG Philly.

Now that MagicCon Philadelphia has come and gone, I discuss why it may be good to feel like you missed out. It's the fear of missing out that keeps us excited to make it out to larger magic events! Then, I theorize when it's the correct time to disassemble your decks. Join me.
