Commander ad Populum

Friday Night Magic kicks up, in Canada, August 6! Be ready physically and mentally to get things back to normal. Whatever the new normal looks like. This week, I've got some things for us all to consider prior to stepping back into the game store, though. From deck choices, to other people's comfort level. We cover it all. Join me.

Welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum. Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This we look back at the most responded to topic I've ever had on the channel. The Power 9 of Commander. I tabulate a ton of the community's response to the question: What is the Power 9 of Commander? Many people agree with me but not all for the reasons you think. And, some of the responses were very much different than my original nine-card list!

We all know the Power Nine of Magic. The supposed nine most powerful cards of all time. They're all banned in the Commander format, of course. So, that raises the question: What is the Commander Power Nine? Tune in today to hear my thoughts. Thenn chime in across the CadPopCast socials to give your input.

This week, we've got two topics. A community topic aimed at those who want to improve their game by listening more, and more intently. Then, we finish things off with the Commander's Arsenal Set Retrospective.

This week on CadPopCast, I continue my discussion about how Magic can enrich your life. This time, with some listener responses and a very frank discussion about how Magic, and the Commander ad Populum community, have made me a better person.

This week, we take a look at a personal deck of mine. A deck that's been requested time after time. A Jeskai control deck that seeks to lock out its opponents until late game and mill them before they have a chance to attack for the win.

Welcome to another deck tech for the people, by the people, for the people!

This week's deck is another Patreon submission. I love featuring the Pateon community's decks as they represent all the categories I like to feature. The new player looking to build their Commander experience. The intermediate player, looking to refine and edge, within the game. And, the long-time, advance player looking to FEEL something.

Huge thank you to all the Patreon supporters of the podcast. If you'd like to become a patron and have you deck featured, head here: https://www.patreon.com/CadPopCast

It's all about going fast and doing big damage to all your opponents. After you do that, land your commander and start the graveyard combo scrap train! That's how Rakdos rolls!

Gatecrash is the second set in the Return to Ravnica Block. As a second 'big set' in a row, it has just as much to offer as RTR proper. Mechanics, cards, commanders, it had it all!
