This week we pause our series to look at how we want to define the culture of CBC. We'll examine what contributes to culture and then we'll discuss how we want to see our culture transform and grow.

This week we look at John 10 where Jesus declares Himself to be the Good Shepherd. We unpack what Jesus is declaring about Himself, what Jesus is declaring about His relationship with us, and finally, what this then means for us.

This week we consider how Jesus models submitting to God's timing and responding to persecution. What does the Bible say about being mistreated for our faith? Is it something that should surprise us or should we expect it? If it happens to us, how should we respond?

Jesus did not promise a life of luxury and comfort for his followers. This passage from Luke 9 shows us that three people likely decided the price was too great.

This week we look at what Jesus reminds us regarding confronting sin within the local church, specifically against those who have wronged us in their sin. We examine God's heart for those who stray from the flock and how that should influence our approach. We also remind ourselves of an essential truth that helps explain why Jesus calls us to a certain behavior.

This week we look at the topic of evangelism, by first defining what that even means. We also consider who is meant to be doing the work of evangelism and examine some practical approaches that Scripture lays out for us.

In Week 3 of the 40 Days, we consider one of the results of repenting from our lives of sin and turning to God: being filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered to live in Christ Jesus. We will examine how the sanctified life does not depend on us for initiation, but we will also consider how this does not mean we have a passive role to play.

We look at the ancient paths in the OT about how to have an intimate relationship with God.

In Week 2 of the 40 Days, we look at the topic of repentance in response to the holiness of God. We consider how essential repentance is in turning towards holiness. We also use Revelation 1-3 to examine how Jesus spoke about repentance in the church.
