This week we look at a passage from Luke 5, where Jesus answers a question about spiritual disciplines. We define what a spiritual discipline is, we examine improper/proper motivations for them, and we consider the examples laid out in Scripture to ultimately ask ourselves if we're applying spiritual discipline to our lives?

This week we look at when Jesus calls Matthew to follow Him. As a tax collector, Matthew would have been the very last person the Jews considered worthy of being called by Jesus. In this story, we learn powerful lessons on repentance, humility, and redemption. What type of heart is Jesus looking for in people?

In the second half of our look at Jesus as Healer, we take the four lessons from the leper, and examine how they apply to when Jesus healed a paralyzed man in front of grumbling Pharisees. We continue to ask ourselves how we approach, understand, and then respond to Jesus as our Healer.

This week we look at a situation where Jesus heals a leper and all we can learn from this unnamed man's interaction with the Lord. This leper teaches us much about relating to and knowing Jesus as our Healer, including a proper focus, a proper attitude, and a proper understanding.

This week we look at how Jesus modeled the heart of evangelism for us. We consider three requirements for our lives if we are to be as focused on God's kingdom as Jesus was during His ministry.

1 Corinthians 13 is one of the most well-known chapters in the Bible. The chapter before we see Paul giving correction concerning gifts of the Spirit. Chapter 13 is a response to chapter 12. We see just how we are to love. One of those ways is to protect others. We should protect them from exposure, ridicule, and harm.

This week we study Jesus' interactions with demons, how even His oldest, fiercest opponents acknowledged Him as God. We examine the difference between just knowing and actually following Jesus. We consider how the Bible warns us about people who say things that seem godly, but are false teachers, and if that's the case, what can we do?

This week we look at when Jesus calls His first disciples. We examine Christ's message of repentance and call to discipleship. Peter frequently gets mentioned as a brash, impulsive example, but this week we look at how he models the appropriate response to the message and person of Jesus.
