This weekend we jump back into Esther. An Exposed Villain.
Yeah! Finally the evil villain is exposed and we see the just hand of God doing His magic. But wait a minute. Before we jump and jeer, is there not an evil villain within each of us? Left to ourselves we could easily be blinded and become like Haman. This weekend we will see from each of the three characters, Xerxes, Esther and Haman a dynamic that we all are in to move away from blind and ignorant behaviors, to healthy, Spirit-led patterns, that will deliver peace and joy rather than frustration and death.
Esther is a gripping story of God at work behind the scenes. God’s people are dispersed living under the rule of the greatest kingdom until that time. What makes the book so fascinating is that God is never mentioned, there is no reference to worship or faith, heaven or hell, or the prediction of Messiah, yet God is present in every scene, every event and circumstance, working for the good of His people. We will find ourselves in this story and be comforted by the fact that the real God of the Empire is our God, the God of the Universe.
