Chanteya Lawrence with the Moore -Myers Childrens Fund came by the show to talk about the 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament presented by Black Rose Foundation for Children which is to provide financial assistance for underserved children to participate in golf programs that will develop their total wellness. We support programs that will teach the skills of golf and help children develop confidence, honesty, integrity, respect, judgment, courteous and perseverance, which are all core values encompassing the game of golf and life.

Danny Horton, RPh, Illustrious Potentate, Rabia Temple 8 and Alvin Buchman Captain of the Marching Team came by the show to talk about Rabia Temple #8 numerous events which helps Veterans, Children and the Elderly in the community. They also spoke on their Diabetes Awareness Walk which kicks off their Jubilee weekend.

Dianne Townsend, Chapter President of Sisters Network Northeast Florida, an African-American Breast Cancer Survivorship Organization came by the show to talk about 13th Annual Gift for Life Block Walk. The event takes breast cancer and other health information into the underserved neighborhoods, door-to-door. She talked about weeks of disseminating breast and prostate health awareness and resource information into the community, and culminating the event with a 5K block walk on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Legends Center, 5130 Soutel Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32208.

Christa Wilson came by the show to talk about The Flying Fish Swim Team, a community swim team for ages 4-18 in Jacksonville, Florida. Members of the River City Swim League. The team is open to all members of the community regardless of skill level.
Christa talked about the basic mission of the Flying Fish Swim Team which is to develop interest and participation in amateur swimming in a safe and fun environment and afford the opportunity of skill development and team participation.
Christa also talked about competitive swimming which helps to develop discipline and encourages self-esteem. The Flying Fish Swim Team provides a comprehensive approach to competitive swimming. Emphasis is placed on fundamental skills, stroke technique, physical conditioning, healthy competition and most of all, enjoyment of the sport.

Tomitchel Practcher a local realtor serving the Jacksonville Community came by the show to talk about her background is public relations and marketing and running a successful PR firm. She spoke on her passion about people knowing the truth about what it means to be a homeowner, she is also the marketing director for her church, Bethel Baptist. Tomitchel’s vision is to empower the community with not just knowledge but applicable knowledge as her ultimate goal. Making it easy for people to understand and taking the fear out of a highly misunderstood process.

Savita Jones and Jadeé Scarver came by the show to talk about Alkavita and the YMCA of Florida First Coast Flying Hydrated Hanger Party a charity event to provide bio-available Alkavita water to those in need. Special Guest Eli Ankou, Defense lineman of the Jacksonville Jaguar.

Shennette Sparkes came by the show to talk about Laps 4 Lupus 2018 Educational Health Fair and Lupus Walk. Over 1.5 million Americans suffer with Lupus, 100,000 being Floridians. There is no cure for Lupus yet! Shanette is an advocate for Lupus hoping to raise money for Lupus awareness, and encourage those living with Lupus to #STANDTALLAGAINSTLUPUS by living a more healthy lifestyle. She also mentioned that Mayor Lenny Curry will be making May Lupus Awareness month in Jacksonville.

We also talked about her various Community Service endeavors and her vision to empower women and men with her book. How can I win if my back is against the wall and all odds are against me?

Dr. Nathaniel ‘Nat’ Glover came by the show to talk about his Legacy! Dr. Nathaniel (“Nat”) Glover made history in 1995 when he was elected as the first African-American sheriff in the state of Florida after serving on the force since 1966. He served for two terms, and continued his lifetime of service as the 29th President of Edward Waters College, a Historically Black College.
