Ken Frye is the director of the Scovill Zoo in Decatur, Ill. He spoke to Community Voices about the variety of animals that inhabit the zoo. He also shared how the zoo is helping conservation efforts locally and internationally.

Heather Massie is a New York- based actress who wrote the one-woman play "HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr." Massie will perform in the play on the Millikin University campus on April 21. She spoke to Community Voices about Hedy Lamarr and the importance of featuring women in science in her work.

Members of the Jacksonvill, Ill. community are working to bring a center for the arts to the downtown Jacksonville area. Drew Snodgrass and Mary Fergurson spoke to Community Voices about the need for a state-of-the-art facility that fits the needs of artists and audiences. They also shared how a center for the arts would help attract new members of the community and develop the labor force.

Dr. Nicole Florence is currently a bariatrician in Springfield. She discusses her passion for caring for patients and her stage debut in the Hoogland's Production of "Our Town." Dr. Florence also gives an update on the documentary "No Title for Tracey."

Curtis Mann is the City Historian and runs the Sangamon Valley Collection at the Lincoln Library. Stephanie Martin is a librarian at the Sangamon Valley Collection. The spoke to Community Voices about their experience helping locals explore their ancestry and providing documents for film and TV. They also shared their upcoming projects and how the Lincoln Library supports the community with its various offerings.

Zach Boblitt is a student at UIS who worked at NPR Illinois. He is now deciding on his next steps as he pursues a career in journalism. He spoke to Community Voices about his interest in the news. He also shared his love of comedy and the differences between storytelling on stage and in journalism.

NPR is still accepting entries to the middle and high school student podcast challenge until April 28. Community Voices spoke with Janet Woojeong Lee and Steve Drummond from NPR's Education Desk about the origins of the podcast challenge and the top tips for students. We also get a chance to hear one of the honorable mentions from last year's contest.

Greg "Lucky" Patterson and Patrick Bruce Miller of local band Wolf Crick Boys discuss their second album, central Illinois venues, and recollect the Bedrock concert series.

Kathryn Harris and Patricia Davis portray Sadie and Bessie Delany in the play "Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years." They spoke to Community Voices about the sisters who lived to be more than 100 years old, and what it's like to perform on stage together again.

Kristi Lecoq and Micah Walk are the musicians behind the Tater Tots, a musical duo which plays music for kids. They shared how teaching music led to the formation of their two-person band. They also explained how they educate and enterain kids with their fun music, which includes original songs and parodies.
