Dr. Layne Morsch teaches organic chemistry at the University of Illinois Springfield. He spoke to Community Voices about how beneficial "flipped learning" is and explained how working with Apple allowed him to help teachers nationwide. His expertise in online learning was put to good use in his online classes during the pandemic, and now he is focused on developing new and interactive ideas to further his student's understand of organic chemistry.

The Sound Celebration Chorus is a women's singing group, which falls under the umbrella of the internationally known Sweet Adelines. Jean Welch and Gena Sommer spoke to Community Voices about the upcoming spring concert and how others can join the Sound Celebration Chorus.

Two students from Franklin High School have competed in this year's Poetry Out Loud regional and state competitions organized by the Springfield Area Arts Council. Thaddeus Bergschneider placed first at the regional competition and Cole Delaney placed second. As they moved on to the state competition Bergschneider placed third and Delaney placed first. Delaney will go on to compete in the national competition. Delaney and his teacher Elise Black spoke to Community Voices about how the students from Franklin High School prepare for Poetry Out Loud competitions.

Jade Anderson is a student at the University of Illinois Springfield. During the 2022 spring semester, she has worked with the Community Voices team to learn about radio broadcasting. She spoke to Community Voices about participating in UIS athletics and her careen plans in media.

Springfield’s annual Illinois Vietnam Memorial Vigil is scheduled for May 7-8, 2022. The vigil takes place at the Illinois Vietnam Memorial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Jim Mathes is the Illinois Vietnam Veteran Vigil Chairman and spoke to Community Voices about the history of that memorial. Bill Beck also joined the show to talk about Springfield Cares Soldier Mailing, which is a volunteer organization which sends packages to active duty soldiers.

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance is an interactive museum experience on wheels, which empowers people to combat anti-Semitism, bullying, racism and hate. Alison Pure-Slovin the Simon Wiesenthal Center Mid-West Region Director and Jacob Thornton spoke to Community Voices about the mobile museum and what they’ve learned from students who have participated in tolerance discussions.

Beverly Hopkins and Justina Schacht operate Flow Midwest Yoga and Meditation. They spoke to Community Voices about how yoga has helped them in their personal lives. They also talked about the classes offered including classes for young people to learn calming techniques.

Hope is a Springfield-based organization which provides services at autism clinics at several locations in the United States. Jodi Ogilvy is the Chief Communications Officer and Leigh Grannan is the Chief of Clinic Services for Hope. They spoke to Community Voices about autism awareness and the services available at their clinics.

Dr. Larry Golden is one of the founders of the Illinois Innocence Project. He spoke to Community Voices about how his early interests in civil rights activism led him on a path to helping innocent individuals exit the prison system.

E.G. Keith is an 11-year-old author who has written a book called "Havoc." She spoke to Community Voices about how she became interested in writing and what she plans to write in the future.
