The CU group get into the same ol’ same ol’ for this episode. The movie ‘Gravity’ is discussed and how it effectively utilized 3D, as well as how space is the best place to be a rapist because you can’t hear the other person scream. We talk about the “What if’s” that we have and how they affect our decisions and lives. We discuss the notion of developers adding “fluff” content into games just to make them expansive and increase their longevity, and even developers changing game genres for franchises to get a wider demographic. The CU group deals with a few topics in this episode, as well as some energetic cats. We get into the game “Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles” and explain why we have fond memories with it. We also discuss how certain comic book inspired adaptations have characters that eventually get written into the actual comics; in this case we talk about the character of Diggle from “Arrow” and how he is now added into the Green Arrow comic series. With the anticipated release of Pokémon X and Y, we give our opinions on whether or not the series has reached a ridiculous status, and the new features of these games. With the announcement of Steam OS and the Steam Box, we discuss our opinions on the future of these devices. And we try to answer the age old question: “Why do we have favourite colours?” We then discuss why our society watches “reality” shows that glorify teen pregnancies, sex and drug addictions, as well as the idea why tasteful nudity in our society is unacceptable compared to these. To end it off we get into the idea of “black sheeps,” (the creative things in our lives that we feel negatively towards) and how they make us grow as individuals. In this episode, the CU group decides to finally get into the topic of self-publishing and crowd-sourcing sites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter. The episode kicks off with the usual stories of our weekly adventures, which ends up leading into a discussion of “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic,” and whether it has held its own against time. The Xbox One’s self-publishing rights are talked about as well as our thoughts on Microsoft allowing developers to use the Xbox One as its own development kit. A discussion about the differences between graphics and aesthetics of a game is something that is touched upon, as well as the differences between “cloned” games and games that utilize game mechanics of other games and improve upon them. And the big meat of the conversation is about crowd-sourcing sites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter, and the pros and cons of crowd-sourcing in a digital age. The CU group conjure the eleventh episode by detailing how Magic the Gathering is just as addictive as drugs, and that the XBLA game is really useful to beginners of the franchise. The 90’s and early 2000’s nostalgia catches us when we discuss the Pokémon card game, as well as Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Beyblades. Somehow we transitioned into our adventures into adult shops, and how each visit seems to get more and more awkward. We came to the realisation that we were correct when we were younger and thought that certain subjects in school would be useless to us later on in our lives. Also, the difference between Western culture and Eastern cultures when it comes to honor and patriotism.  As for video games, “Ni no Kuni,” “Bulletstorm,” and “XCOM: Enemy Unknown” are the few that we have played over the week that we discuss. The CU group celebrates the tenth episode by doing what we usually do. We discuss how the 3DS is finally coming into its own with a slew of engaging games that make us all want to own one.  We also discuss the loss of local multiplayer in the current generation of games, but the benefits of online gaming. The CU group takes on E3 and the Xbox One’s policy change in this episode. It starts with E3 and discussing some of our must-play games for this new generation. As well as a discussion on how everyone is pushing for some sort of tablet gaming in the next generation, whether it’s in Battlefield 4 with their “Commander Mode” or in Dead Rising 3 with their use of calling in an aerial strike. The CU group take on a variety of topics in Episode 8. We kick off this adventure by discussing the Oculus Rift, and how it is going to affect the gaming industry in the years to come. With the announcement of "Fable Anniversary," HD re-releases of previous games are another topic we delve into. Somehow we then get mixed up into the highly acclaimed indie puzzle game "Fez," which leads us to have the "What is art?" discussion.
