    conelcast episode 028: Imperfect Competition

    [Join the conelrad Patreon here]

Man, this one was a lot of work. I really hope you like it. It’s kinda sombre and downbeat; I hope that doesn’t mess with anyone too much. I just really liked the cinematic mood coming out of the song and had to follow it where it went.

conelcast is free, but is a lot of hard work and costs money to do and to host. Here’s how you can support it either with money or your recommendation!

There is now a conelrad patreon! If you like what I’m doing, I urge you to check it out. If you’re able to chip in a few bucks per month, you’ll get higher-quality, intro-and-sting-free versions of every single full episode, as well as a short bonus track. Become a subscriber and you’ll be helping me to make more and better music. Thank you!

The main fortnightly episodes will remain free for the forseeable future.

    Bandcamp

I have about six albums of music at conelrad.bandcamp.com. They’re mostly shorter tracks, but these are the albums that inspired conelcast (because people told me that they listened to them while working)/

You can pay whatever you like for them. Some people have done this already (thank you so much).

    Free ways to support!!!!!

If you know artists, coders, creatives or open-plan office workers of any kind who could be interested, do let them know about conelcast. Also, if you know of anywhere I could recommend the podcast — popular blogs/sites for artists and other creatives, for instance — do let me know. You can email me at [email protected] or get me on Twitter at conelraduk.

You can join the conelrad mailing list here. That’s the best way to keep updated with conelcast and other conelrad projects.

WOW GUYS!! Thanks so much for the incredible early response to the conelrad patreon. You have no idea how amazing it is to feel that support.  My goal is for conelrad activity to replace part of my income so that I can go part time at work and make more and better music. A modest goal, maybe, but it would have a massive impact on my music-making. Thank you so much coming onboard. I will not let you down and you will get what you pay for!

This episode is a little livelier than some — hope it’s not too much. But you gotta follow these songs where they go. Hope you enjoy

    Blip song name: Reaganomics

From album: Toward Compliant Towers (2015) (get the whole thing here)

A conelcast? But we just had one last week! That’s right. I am doing an extra episode per month, at no extra cost! These short episodes are called “Blips”. I’m aware that a lot of listeners may not be aware of the years of shorter-form music that I’ve produced. So I will drop a selected track in the “off-week” between full conelcast episodes for your consideration. I don’t know how long I’ll do this!

Usually each one will be repeated once (like the VT segments on teletubbies I guess) to halve the amount of track switching you have to do if you choose to listen. However this one is longer, so to save server space (this is a concern!) I have not done so on this occasion.

If you’re not interested in these, don’t worry! The main conelcast episodes will be unaffected. This is just a little something extra for the weeks between the full-length episodes. I hope you enjoy them.

Recommended it to friends–especially those who are artists, writers, coders or people who just need something to help them focus on what they’re doing. I personally work in a large open-plan hotdesking office and listen to stuff like this all the time.

Whether you do any of the above or not, thank you so much for listening. It’s great that you’d trust me with your ears.
