Raeann has been having a lot of conversations with friends lately about the shift in her mentality around casual sex, so we thought we'd bring in Rosie to help us unpack and navigate this topic in case any of you are going through similar experiences. We talk about what Raeann learned in her "hoe phase" enjoying casual sex and why she has no regrets. We talk about the emotional and physical implications of casual sex that caused Raeann to rethink her relationship with it, and enter her "celibate era." Join us as we dive into what her siren summer looks like dating without having sex right away, and what having casual sex taught her about herself. This episode is a no judgment zone as, and we hope this conversation highlights your right to reclaim your sexual freedom and individual relationship to sex in your current phase of life, but to always make sure it feels good for you.
I feel like I've come into that phase of my life where, as I've been dating recently, I have been waiting much, much longer or not doing it at all. I do feel like I have that power. I'm choosing who gets to have access to this part of me. - Raeann Langas
What We Talk About:
I've always thought, if you want to have sex with me, do you know how fucking lucky you have to be? And I feel like that is the attitude and value that maybe we need to all have. - Kristina Zias
As women we're told if you sleep with x amount of people, you're a slut. It feels like a necessary thing to shake that off and find your freedom. I think you needed to have that experience of going down that path to realize, actually...Maybe I don't want all of that freedom, I just wanted to know that I could have it should I choose. - Rosie Richardson

Today we are excited to sit down with our friend, Khaylah Epps, the voice behind the podcast I Might Die Alone. In her podcast, she celebrates women who are defining their lives beyond their relationship status and dives deep into the dichotomy of wanting romantic love, but also not letting that absence consume us.
In this episode we talk to Khaylah about her journey of decentering romance in her life and what that has looked like for her. We talk about her desperate era and experience being on The Bachelor, her ultra independent era, and how she's landed in her current gray era; finding a good balance between wanting a romantic relationship without letting that desire become the center of her life. Khaylah shares beautiful insight and advice about the difference between being single and being alone, why there shouldn't be a hierarchy of relationships, and navigating friendships with people in all phases of life.
We're so excited for you to hear this episode and encourage you to check out Khaylah's podcast, I Might Die Alone, if you enjoy or relate to this conversation!
What I'm challenging is the idea of obsessing over a romantic relationship and saying that it is the most important relationship for you to find in this lifetime. I just disagree with it. I think it's beautiful but I think so many other relationships are beautiful as well, and there should be no hierarchy. - Khaylah Epps
What We Talk About:
Having really intimate romantic friendships is so important. A community of women has brought so much fulfillment to my life in the last three years that I've been single. I would not be able to survive without my girlfriends. - Raeann
Being in a relationship isn't like the end all be all. We need to stop at this linear definition of what is a happy partnership because that's different for everyone. - Kristina

What We Talk About:
When you're fearing judgment, you're worried about what people are thinking of you that literally don't matter in your life. Because the people that matter, the people that care about you, that respect you, are going to be proud of your hustle, are going to be proud to see you trying something different and excited for you and hoping that you succeed. So you have to stop worrying about the thoughts of others who literally don't matter. - Kristina

It's no secret that the patterns and behaviors that were modeled to us in our families growing up influences our confidence. Establishing the who, what, where and why of how we were raised is so important when you're trying to change patterns that are no longer serving you. In this conversation, Raeann, Kristina and Rosie talk about each of their own experiences growing up and the messages they received about confidence and body image. We talk about what helped instill confidence in us, what might be affecting us still today in how we feel about ourselves, and what we want to change for future generations.
We recognize that perfection isn't the goal, and every generation before did the best they could within the culture they also were raised in. But it's important to recognize that we have the power to reclaim what confidence looks like for us now. We hope this conversation will show that while we can't control our past, we can break the cycle and show the next generation what confidence really looks and feels like.
"It's really important to have those dialogues with your families because I know I'm not the only one whose families comment on their bodies and make them feel a certain way. I think that you have to express how you feel, let it go, set your boundaries and then choose to ignore it because how they feel about themselves does not need to be a reflection on how you feel about yourself." - Kristina

"I don't want my progressions in life to be limited to the status quo of what is normal within, whether it be my family or my friendship circles or whatever. I've had to take time as an adult to be comfortable being an individual." – Rosie

Get ready for a super fun catch up episode where we share what we've been excited about lately. We get into our summer travel plans as Kristina prepares for her last West Coast summer & Raeann prepares for her 30th birthday festivities. Hear about a recent astrology and tarot reading Raeann had that gave her interesting insight about a future relationship. Then, we share some of our favorite beige flags we've seen and confess our own beige flags. There's so much to look forward to this summer, and we talk about movies we're excited to watch on the big screen, weigh in on Kardashian sibling drama and spill the beans on some of our own wild stories about how our siblings make us feel psycho. Long story short: we're crazy & you're going to love how we let it out in this episode.
"Honestly, summer travel plans can give me a little bit of anxiety because I always feel like you're supposed to plan those epic adventures, and it's like, wait, what is an epic adventure? Why do I feel like I have to go to a different country? Why do I feel like I have to be in Europe over summer otherwise I'm having a mediocre summer? No, summer is what you make of it. You choose your own adventure. - Kristina"
What We Talk About:
"My beige flag is that it is very rare these days that I take the flight that I actually booked. I don't know if it's a commitment issue. I'm always switching. I change my flight probably eight out of 10 times." - Raeann

Victoria Browne is known for keeping it real all around on social media, which is incredibly refreshing in an online world of filters & FaceTune. Although showing up authentically has always been part of her brand, navigating her own personal evolution in front of millions has been challenging at times. If you love following Victoria, you're about to get to know her on another level in this episode as we explore how she went from a former D-1 athlete to Ted Talk speaker and content creator who has amassed over 1.5 million followers on social media. She's also the voice behind the Real Pod podcast, and you can check out our episode on her show as well!
Victoria became widely known after exposing the rampant use of filters on social media and to this day sheds light on the mental harm it can cause when we're comparing ourselves to unrealistic expectations. Having her own story of feeding into that narrative, she's a role model for so many women to embrace your body exactly the way it is, and how you can change your relationship with your body to be more positive.
With transparency and relatability being at the top of the list of things we love about her, the topics she shares on her page are constantly evolving along with her. On today's episode, we're learning how Victoria is entering her wrecking ball era and being even more unapologetically herself. Victoria shares her experience as an athlete in relation to her struggles with binge eating and perfectionism, how she's currently trying to overcome people-pleasing, how she navigates tough conversations with friends and maintains her long-distance female friendships, and what success looks like for her now.
I want to feel more confidence and assurance and abundance in my own life so that I'm not as affected by what other people are doing. - Victoria Browne

In this episode, we're diving deeper into the complex issue of weight loss: Why does it feel like everyone is losing weight right now? Is it a bad thing to want to lose weight? Are we allowed to be in bigger bodies and feel healthy and strong? We talk about our personal thoughts and journeys around weight loss as women who love being in bigger bodies, and explore how we can connect more deeply to our own individuality and values. Community and representation play a huge role in this journey for us, and we hope this podcast will help you feel less alone if you're struggling with the same thing. We may not have all the answers, but we're not afraid to go there and be honest with how we're feeling now.
Make sure to let us know what topics you want us to dive deeper into with Rosie next month by sending us a DM on Instagram @confidentcollective!
There are certain things I still want to be able to grab ahold of in my body and I do not want them to disappear because they have been a part of my journey of coming home to myself. I fought really hard to want to exist in this body, so I want to lose weight right now, but I do not want to erase myself. - Rosie

We're very excited to have a role model of ours, founder and CEO of Knix Joanna Griffiths, on the podcast! Joanna is a Canadian entrepreneur and launched Knix in 2013. She's honestly revolutionized the industry with her leak proof underwear, and they have now expanded into apparel and to swim. Knix is one of the first brands to ever use real people of all ages and sizes on their website and marketing, and it's because Joanna truly believes all women should be seen.
In this conversation you'll learn more about her entrepreneurial journey, how she built the Knix brand with innovation, community and inclusion in mind, challenges she faced, how she handles change and how she balances being a mom and CEO. She is a testament to not living life safe, and is all around super inspirational. It's clear that Joanna cares so much about her brand, her vision, and most importantly the community. No matter where you are in your life, you're going to learn so much from her story.
"We have this mantra at Knix which is safe is risky, and sometimes the riskiest thing in the world is to play it safe. And that's how we feel right now. There are so many different brands, there's so many options. How are we really gonna connect with our customers and make them know that we're different? And to do that we have to take risks." - Joanna Griffiths
What We Talk About:
"At the core of Knix, we believe that the most aspirational thing in the world is to like yourself and to be comfortable with who you are. And ultimately we're all just in pursuit of that." - Joanna Griffiths
