Jeremy and Kendra are on the very beginning stages of their RV lifestyle adventure.  Jeremy is in the Coast Guard with just a few more years of service left, and with two kids ready to explore-they figured now is a great time to take the leap and get an RV.  We talk to them about their past experiences growing up camping (Jeremy with a bit more adventures than Kendra), and what they hope to find and learn as they continue discover new things.   In fact, they just started a podcast of their own!  You can check it out on their website: www.countrysiderving.com

The other day I was strolling through Instagram when I got a message.  Now a little back story.  My mom has planted a seed about doing some glamping or options at Lake Eufaula Campground.  Not sure if this was something I was totally sold on yet, I told her about this Glamp Your Grounds website that I came across and what they do.  I said it may be something we want to look into.  Then I randomly get this message on the campground Instagram page. This was a summary of our conversation:

GYG: Hi there, we will be in Eufaula visiting my grandparents for a bit and I would love to tour your yurts!

Me: OMG! Yay! We don't have any yurts but I would love to talk to you and take you to lunch and learn more about what you are doing.  I can't believe you have ties to Eufaula, this is so random!

GYG: Is that not the funniest thing ever!  I saw yurts out there but maybe it was somewhere else.  I was def planning on connecting with you all, would love to get together

Me: Great! I love what you're doing.  Eufaula is awesome.

GYG: We are in Colorado and met a guy who is looking to buy a ranch in Eufaula.

Me: My sister is here from Colorado right now?!  This is creepy.

GYG: OMG hold the phone-I just realized I was talking about Oklahoma

Me: That would explain the yurts!

The good thing and the bad thing is that we often do get confused for our western counterpart in Oklahoma, but I hope they get just as many calls for Alabama.  The good thing about this is that it brought us to Brittny and we had the best time talking to her about glamping, her company, her adventuress and all the neat things that are happening within this industry.  I am hopeful that this will be something we can bring to Eufaula, Alabama and glamp up this place!

Our true “why” comes down to this.

Life is too short to be stressed out, distracted and working to pay bills. A “normal life” can quickly turn into a routine that robs us of joy, excitement, change, adventure and new friendships. With complacency comes more “stuff”, less awareness of our short time that is flying by and less value for friends and family around us, I guess I would say that we tend to live with less intention, less purpose when we are not challenged.

We are traveling through the United States and are seeing places within our own country that we didn’t even know existed! We are meeting people who also love adventure and have embraced the freefall. Despite its ups and downs, we are being intentional about our life and our time with our kids and each other.

We only get one life and we intend to live it like we mean it.

We are all in for an Intentional Adventure.

We spoke with Dave who is the Huntsville Adventurer.  He has a true love for the outdoors!  Him and his wife Andy love hiking, paddling, or anything else that gets them out in the woods and away from the daily grind. We had the best time speaking with Jenn and Kyle Bethune about their adventure. It wasn't hard to make the decision to sell everything, fix up an old five speed tour bus, and load up their three kids and four dogs and hit the road.
