Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m a bit of a language nerd. I love to find out about how languages shape the way we think. Languages allow us to express how we feel. But sometimes we lack words to express what we want to say, the words are missing, or maybe we’re not culturally comfortable to talk about a particular topic. This is the case for Races and Racism in general. It’s the case here in France, in the US and probably everywhere in the world.
Thanks to the movement Black Lives Matter, I feel that people are opening themselves to the idea of talking about Racism.
So, Let’s talk about races.
Today’s episode is different, because it is going to be a bilingual episode en français and in English and I’m going to have a conversation with my friend Véronique who’s from the US but has been living here in France for the past two years.
This episode is going to be longer than usual. My podcast aims at leaners of intermediate level, but here it’s a fluent conversation so go to my website to access the full transcription if needed. You’ll also find some help with the vocabulary to better understand our conversation whether it’s in English or in French.
