Representing your country in your chosen sport is not something many people have the opportunity to do in their lifetime. However former Wellington Mill resident, Jake Harvie, has had the opportunity to do just that and be a part of the Australian gold medal-winning Kookaburras side at the Commonwealth Games. In our third episode of   My Place. My People Series. Jake shares about the rich history of our   Australian hockey teams and how the hockey community, from grassroots to elite, provides the right environment for the player to thrive both on and off the field.  He also shares the evolution and growth of the international sport and how his family legacy always saw hockey as a real possibility for his future.

On Episode 2 of our Connect Dardanup Podcast ‘My Place. My People.’ Series, host Richard Stacey had the opportunity to chat with Eaton-based Wildlife Warrior Kim Grant. During this 30 minute podcast, recorded at Kim’s Kangaroo sanctuary (also known as her Eaton home) she openly shares everything from establishing Roo Rescue, to the struggles and challenges of working to protect and ensure there is a future for our native icon.
