Suffering is a universal experience. Comfort is a universal need. God's word is filled to the brim with comforting truth. 2nd Corinthians teaches that comfort comes from a relationship, is found in a biblical perspective, and is found when we use our suffering to love others.

Jonah repents by telling a story about himself in which he is not the hero; the Grace of God is.

If your identity isn’t as a forgiven person; then it will be in vengeance or avoidance, and Mission will be impossible.

While Jonah’s transformation by God’s grace propels him to the mission, the mission exposes his need for ongoing transformation by Grace.

When God restores you, he restores you to His purpose in the world.

Genuine repentance ends with addressing lordship and idolatry, by admitting that there is a real and eternal cost to sin, and a pleasure in the grace of God once the sin is out in the open.

When God asks a hard thing of us, the painful truth about us is revealed; and God’s transforming grace in the form of a willing substitute and a miraculous deliverance is patiently waiting to catch us.
