Conroe Bible Church

This Christmas Eve we celebrated God With Us! In this special message, Dave Schneider shares how God With Us means God is For Us!

12/24/19

This Christmas season take time to wonder at the thought of God With Us! We all know the story, but when you realize that the story means that God actually desired to come be with us we must stop and wonder at the glory of it all. Dave Schneider points our hearts toward Christ in this Christmas message out of the first chapter of Matthew.

12/22/19

When you struggle and fall to sin, which was the greater cause, your pride or your fear? Both pride and fear can cause us to look inward and become self-absorbed. Dave Schneider takes a look at James 4:11-12 and what it has to say about how we speak about others and why we need to take our eyes off of ourselves and put them on Jesus as He leads us to love others.

12/15/19

Submission starts and ends with humility. James calls us to submit to God's leadership in our lives, but what does it look like to yield to God's authority? Matt Ward speaks to this question in this message out of James 4:6-10.

12/8/19

It is often the case that the conflicts we experience with other people are influenced by the conflict we are feeling inside our hearts. James calls this a war of desire being fought within us all. Matt Ward teaches from James 4:1-6 in this message on passion and prayer.

12/1/19

There is a difference in wisdom that comes from God and wisdom that comes from sinful, broken humanity. In this message Dave Schneider uses the descriptions found in James 3:13-18 to help us identify which kind of wisdom we may be using in our lives and how we can get Godly wisdom to help guide us through this chaotic life.

11/24/19

A horse's bit, a ship's rudder and a wild fire. James uses all these images in chapter 3, verses 1-12, to describe the power of the tongue and why it is so critical that we seek the power of the Holy Spirit to bring our word's into alignment with our faith. Dave Schneider shares words of encouragement and challenge as we learn how to speak to the heart.

11/17/19

What is the purpose of good works in the life of a follower of Jesus? What happens when we disconnect our belief from our behavior? Matt Ward looks to James 2:14-26 to seek answers in this message on having an Active Faith in a Chaotic World.

11/10/19

The command to love our neighbor as ourselves is not merely a suggestion. Matt Ward wraps up James' teaching on partiality in chapter 2 with a look at the implications of committing the sin of partiality.

10/3/19

What if the beggar holding the cardboard sign you pass on the side of the road were to sit next to you in church one Sunday? How would you respond? What assumptions would you make of that person? Matt Ward begins chapter 2 in our study of James in this message. James causes us to take a look at how we view other people by creating a hypothetical situation where a common image is placed in an uncommon context.
