ii. the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity

This is an ego check. It's time we start getting comfortable with checking our egos, biases, attachments, and perceptions on a regular basis.

I initially launched Project Alchimie committed to the idea of concealing my identity. As a black person, I strongly considered the challenges, biases, and judgments that could overshadow the greater message of the space, healing, and community I strive to facilitate. What if this vision and the difference I want to make are denied support, access, or true consideration?

Today, I'm letting it all go: letting another one of my masks fall, experiencing a public ego death, and expressing gratitude for what my black experience and existence has taught me.
