In this week's episode, Jason talks with Mark Damian Duda about hunting related surveys. Mark is a certified wildlife biologist who received his masters degree, with an emphasis on natural resource policy, from Yale. He is also the Executive Director of Responsive Management, an internationally recognized survey research firm specializing in attitudes toward natural resource and outdoor recreation issues. During his 30+ year career with Responsive Management, Mark has helped conduct over 1,00 studies, authored 150 publications, and 4 books.
During the conversation, Jason and Mark talk about how Responsive Management was started, trends in hunter numbers, and what the general public thinks about hunting and hunters. They also discuss how the hunting industry and hunters can help promote hunting in a positive way and Mark shares what he feels is the biggest threat to hunting in North America.

Susan is the chief naturalist at Carbon County Environmental Education Center, and a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. In this week's episode, Jason talks with Dr. Lincoln Larson and Torey Vayer about R3 efforts across the nation. Lincoln in an Associate Professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management and NC State where he has spent 15 years studying diversity in outdoor recreation, with an emphasis on the recruitment and retention of "non-traditional" hunters. Torey recently completed her Master's degree in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology under the direction of Dr. Larson. Her research has focused on understanding and influencing college students hunting related beliefs and behaviors. During the conversation, we will talk about their research into the human dimensions of natural resources and science communication as well as how they play a part in hunting. Other topics covered include hunting's place in American society, changing demographics, and the untapped pool of potential hunters we have at universities.
