9-9-25  Conservative Commandos: "Repeat Offender Fatally Stabs Ukrainian Refugee!!
 A North Carolina man with a very long criminal history is charged in the stabbing death of a 23-year-old woman on a Charlotte light rail train last month is now facing a federal charge.  Tuesday afternoon, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that the suspect, Decarlos Brown, will be charged with committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system. The federal criminal complaint was filed in U.S. District Court in Charlotte.
"Iryna Zarutska was a young woman living the American dream - her horrific murder is a direct result of failed soft-on-crime policies that put criminals before innocent people," said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. "I have directed my attorneys to federally prosecute DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat violent offender with a history of violent crime, for murder. We will seek the maximum penalty for this unforgivable act of violence - he will never again see the light of day as a free man."
"The brutal attack on Iryna Zarutska on the Charlotte Light Rail was a disgraceful act that should never happen in America," said FBI Director Kash Patel. "The FBI jumped to assist in this investigation immediately to ensure justice is served and the perpetrator is never released from jail to kill again. I want to thank Attorney General Bondi for her pursuit of today's federal charges, which are the first step toward delivering justice for Iryna and her family - as well as the millions of Americans who deserve to live in our great American cities free from being targeted by violent criminals."

9-8-25  Conservative Commandos:  Trump calls to take power away from the Fed!!
President Donald Trump’s top economic official is doubling down on an idea he has trumpeted for months: The Fed has overstepped its bounds by taking on banking regulation, and that must stop.
“The Fed now regulates, lends to and sets the profitability calculus for the banks it oversees, an unavoidable conflict that blurs accountability and jeopardizes independence,” Bessent wrote. “There must also be an honest, independent, nonpartisan review of the entire institution, including monetary policy, regulation, communications, staffing and research.”  When the Fed was created in its current form in 1913, bank supervision and regulation weren’t part of its core responsibilities. But over time and through crises such as the Great Depression and Great Recession, the Fed was gradually ceded more oversight over the nation’s banks.
Advocates for the Fed argue that the soundness of the banking system is interconnected with the country’s financial stability, part of the Fed’s mission as an institution.  Bank supervision and regulation are currently shared among the Fed, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.  It’s unclear who would conduct a “review” of the Fed and what that would entail. In an August 27 interview with Fox Business, Bessent said he “encouraged Chair (Jerome) Powell to do this on an internal basis before there is an external review.”
Fed Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman is currently the person at the central bank with that responsibility. Trump elevated her to that post earlier this year, and she has kicked off a comprehensive review of the capital requirements for the nation’s largest banks.

Several survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse have announced plans to compile their own confidential list of individuals they say were part of Epstein’s inner circle or complicit in his crimes. Lisa Phillips, an Epstein accuser, stated that survivors “know the names” and are working together to compile a list “by survivors and for survivors”. 9-2-25  Conservative Commandos:  Trump says he will require voter ID with executive order!!
President Donald Trump says he plans to sign an executive order aimed at requiring voter ID in elections across the country.  Trump made the statement on social media late Saturday night, saying he is also seeking other reforms to how U.S. elections take place.  "Voter I.D. Must Be Part of Every Single Vote. NO EXCEPTIONS! I Will Be Doing An Executive Order To That End!!! Also, No Mail-In Voting, Except For Those That Are Very Ill, And The Far Away Military. USE PAPER BALLOTS ONLY!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump previously attempted to impose voter ID via an executive order earlier this year in a wider election integrity action.  In April, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia struck down the portions of that order that related to voter identification requirements.  Kollar-Kotelly maintained that Trump did not have the authority to issue such an order, as the Constitution delegates control of election regulations to Congress and states.  "Consistent with that allocation of power, Congress is currently debating legislation that would affect many of the changes the President purports to order," Kollar-Kotelly, a Clinton appointee, wrote in her order. "No statutory delegation of authority to the Executive Branch permits the President to short-circuit Congress’s deliberative process by executive order."
Nevertheless, requiring voters to provide proof of citizenship remains widely popular among Americans, according to a poll from Gallup taken just before the 2024 elections.  The poll found that 84% of U.S. adults were in favor of requiring voters to show identification and 83% supported requiring proof of citizenship.

Stephanie Taub serves as Senior Counsel with First Liberty Institute, focusing on restoring religious liberty in the marketplace.  At First Liberty, she advocates for the rights of employees and business leaders of faith to work with integrity, consistent with their religious convictions. Taub has authored pieces published by National Review and the Federalist Society and has appeared on Fox News. The Texas Review of Law and Politics published her article on federal employment law protections for faith-based employers. The article elaborates on the statutory right of religious institutions to cultivate communities of faith.  Stephanie will discuss how the Trump Administration's working to protect religious freedom and religious rights and promote religious tolerance and how DEI standards are often used to attack religious freedom and people of faith.  The suspect who shot and killed two children and hurt at least 17 others as they attended a Catholic mass during the first week of school in Minnesota was identified as a man claiming to be transgender, according to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said the suspect -- who was later named as 23-year-old Robert "Robin" Westman -- was found dead in the back of the Annunciation Church parking lot from what authorities believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday morning.  The coward who fired these shots ultimately took his own life," O'Hara said, adding that authorities believe he was the sole shooter. "We are looking through information left behind to try and determine some type of motive.
O'Hara, who said the suspect didn't have a known criminal history with police, also confirmed during a 4 p.m. news conference that authorities searched the church and found three other places in the area connected to the shooter, where additional guns were recovered.  The police chief said the alleged assailant was armed with a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol, also noting that all the guns were purchased legally.
Noem described the accused shooter as a "degrand monster."....  This deranged monster targeted our most vulnerable: young children praying in their first morning Mass of the school year. This deeply sick murderer scrawled the words ‘For the Children’ and ‘Where is your God?’ and ‘Kill Donald Trump’ on a rifle magazine," Noem wrote on X.
This level of violence is unthinkable. Our deepest prayers are with the children, parents, families, educators, and Christians everywhere. We mourn with them, we pray for healing, and we will never forget them," she added.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the agency is investigating the shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and hate crime targeting Catholics.  O'Hara said authorities are aware of a manifesto the suspect scheduled to be released on YouTube ahead of the shooting. The chief said the video appeared to show the suspect at the scene, as well as some concerning writings.

8-26-25  Conservative Commandos:  Trump wants to punish people for flag burning!!
President Trump signed an executive order Monday that seeks to punish people who burn the American flag, accusing those who do so of displaying hostility and contempt toward the United States.
Mr. Trump has for years threatened to crack down on flag burning. In 2016, he wrote on social media that anyone who burns the American flag should lose their citizenship or face jail time. During a 2024 speech before the National Guard Association of the United States, then-candidate Trump said he would work to pass a law imposing criminal penalties on those who burn the American flag.
In remarks from the Oval Office on Monday, Mr. Trump alleged that burning the American flag "incites riots" and said those who are prosecuted and convicted as a result of his directive would face one year in prison.  "The people in this country don't want to see our American flag burned and spit on," the president said.

Titled "Prosecuting Burning of the American Flag," Mr. Trump's executive order does not direct the attorney general to prosecute those who burn flags for the act itself. Rather, it says the Justice Department should bring cases "against acts of American Flag desecration that violate applicable, content-neutral laws, while causing harm unrelated to expression, consistent with the First Amendment." Examples of those laws include "violent crimes; hate crimes, illegal discrimination against American citizens, or other violations of Americans' civil rights; and crimes against property and the peace."

President Trump said Monday he will lead a “movement” to scrap mail-in ballots and certain voting machines from U.S. elections, saying paper ballots with watermarks are more reliable.  Mr. Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post that the effort would begin with an executive order to bring “honesty” to the 2026 midterm elections.  “Remember, the States are merely an ’agent’ for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes,” he said. “They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do.”
Mr. Trump criticized mail-in ballots days after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. After the summit, Mr. Trump told Fox News that the Russian leader referenced potential fraud in the 2020 election.  “He said, ’Your election was rigged because you have mail-in voting,’” Mr. Trump said.  Any attempt by Mr. Trump to have a bigger say over vote-counting will be met with pushback from Democrats, who fear the president will try to fix the midterms in his favor to retain GOP majorities in Congress.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had a “very good conversation” with US President Donald Trump ahead of their multilateral meeting with other European leaders.“I think that we had a very good conversation with President Trump,” he said. “We spoke about very sensitive points.”
"Maybe the best one will be in the future, but it was really good," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president indicated that he would like to see President Trump participate in a future meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, if such a meeting takes place. "President Trump will try to organize such a meeting," Zelensky said of Trump's push for another meeting with Putin. "And he said that he will come or not come, Ukraine will be happy if you [do]."
After Trump and Zelenskyy's meeting, they headed for the meeting with the European leaders. Trump, Zelenskyy and the European leaders stood for a photo inside the White House.
