  • Rugged Americanism, Handling Life's Hardships - Political Pistachio Radio Revolution
Raising Real Men by Hal and Melanie Young - tonight's guests.
Harry Reid (D-NV): “. . .domestic abuse has gotten out of hand. Men don’t?have jobs, when they’re out of work, tend to become abusive.”
Feminist groups, social workers, and liberal activists claim studies support Reid's connection.
The core problem goes deeper than economic difficulties. Our society where self-esteem is king, and everybody it "special", has not taught our young men to be resilient during tough times. Now, faced with a society full of people unwilling to pull themselves up by the bootstraps, people like Harry Reid wish to legislate behavior in lieu of the parenting necessary to train young men on how to handle economic, and other, life hardships.
Life does have winners and losers. Parents who teach their sons to work hard and strive for success, and allow the boys to feel the sting of failure when it strikes, gives their boys the tools to deal with setbacks. The ability of these young men to bounce back and try again is the key to their future, and the future of America.
Hal and Melanie Young, authors of the new book Raising Real Men: Surviving, Teaching and Appreciating Boys, say that parents need to take an intentional and principled approach to teaching their sons what it means to be a man. As our educational system has responded to the demands of feminism and concerns about school violence, boys are finding it difficult to express their growing masculinity in ways that are acceptable to their teachers. Raising boys into men is not a job that can be left to schools and clubs, they say, but has to be tackled in the home.

  • Tea Party Brings Change to Local Level - Political Pistachio Radio Revolution
A defining-moment message of discontent has been sent to the standing government for its irresponsible spending and blinders-on leadership. Now, following McCain's unveiling of Sarah Palin as his running mate, Scott Brown winning in Massachusetts, and Constitution minded Congressman Ron Paul wins the straw poll at the CPAC convention. But now the grassroots wildfire is growing in new directions. In England, of all places, politician Daniel Hannan is picking up America’s Tea Party torch and waving it on the floor in Parliament. Tonight on the Political Pistachio Radio Revolution Ned Ryun joins us. He is President of American Majority, who believes that real political change begins at the local level. It is going to take engaged citizens working together in their communities to effectively implement freedom on a national level. They believe that individual liberty will only be achieved through limited government and free markets and that by training candidates and activists to be effective towards those goals today, we will enhance tomorrow.
American Majority is a national non-profit, non-partisan political training institute whose mission is to train and equip a national network of leaders committed to individual freedom through limited government and the free market. Headquartered in Purcellville, Virginia, the organization currently has state offices in Arkansas, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Texas, with plans to open additional state offices in 2010.
The organizational philosophy remains centered around the grassroots. American Majority works hard to ensure premier training programs are accessible to activists and candidates around the country. Since the organization's inception in 2008, they have conducted hundreds of training sessions in dozens of states, providing resources and education to more than 5,000 candidates and grassroots activists. • Dale Halling: Jobs Diagnosis on the Political Pistachio Radio Revolution
After the people of Massachusetts spoke all too loud and clear electing Republican Scott Brown to the Senate, the Democrats' tenuous control of Congress has them practicing the legislative equivalent of a Chinese fire drill.
The latest hot-button issue on the table, or red flag up the polls, is unemployment, triggering the Washington knee-jerk reaction to begin kicking around a "jobs bill." But, while the Democrats, in apparent desperation, are holding press conferences on this bill before an actual article of legislation actually exists, entrepreneur, patent attorney, business-policy expert and author Dale Halling says these politicians need to reevaluate.
Whether the Obama administration is being well received by Republicans for his mention of a hiring tax credit for small businesses, or being scolded by these same Republicans for suggesting that the U.S. take repaid TARP money away from paying down the national debt and divert it into banks for business loans, Halling says it's all without economic teeth.
Drawing from the knowledge base he used to write his new book, "The Decline and Fall of the American Entrepreneur, Halling will explore with Political Pistachio Radio listeners tonight the real cause and effect behind the struggling national business base, and the keys to rejuvenating it. • U.S. Natural Resources Collateral For Foreign Debt - Political Pistachio Radio Revolution
The U.S. deficit spending is out of control. Greece faces collapse due to the same practice of a tax and spend economy while employing a third of the country in public sector jobs. The Stock Market dipped below 10000 recently, and currently struggles to remain above that mark. The number of foreclosures continue to rise. The government refuses to drill domestically.
Is all of this connected? How does China, and their own future economic troubles, tie into all of this?
Join the Political Pistachio Radio Revolution as we welcome guest Bob Rinear of Invest Yourself dot com to discuss worldwide economics, and his theory that one of the reasons government officials are against drilling for oil domestically might be because our oil reserves are being used as collateral for our debt.
