This Charlotte startup company focused on branding and content FTW.

Since one of the founders first appeared on the Entrepreneur Perspectives podcast in mid-2019, 2ULaundry has taken off! They now even have a franchise business in LaundroLab. Branding and content were some of the main drivers of that success. That included appearing on podcasts, creating content, giving the user consistency in design with logos, websites, and t-shirts, and utilizing social media including Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, and LinkedIn.

In October 2020, the other founder of 2ULaundry came on the Entrepreneur Perspectives podcast–and we talk about many topics around his business, entrepreneurship, and branding/content. This episode gets into all that branding and content FTW!

In this Content Matterz podcast episode, Eric Kasimov talks with Alex Smereczniak, co-founder of 2ULaundry and LaundroLab.

More about Alex Smereczniak and His Companies | 2ULaundry & LaundroLab

  • Why This Charlotte Business Leader Creates Content

This Charlotte business leader creates content for a greater purpose.

In this Content Matterz podcast episode, Eric Kasimov talks with Tony Tennaro, Principal Chair of C12 Greater Charlotte.

The concept of creating content didn’t happen overnight for this Charlotte business owner. As Tony said:

“When the idea of a website with my name on it was brought up my first reaction was-oh no! The world doesn’t need one more website.

As we talked more about it, I agreed to launch one. Why? Because the world does need more people talking about HOPE! Maybe it might even be more meaningful that I am just an ordinary guy who believes in an extraordinary God who does extraordinary things constantly with ordinary people. With faith in God, a hope for tomorrow, and a desire to have a significantly positive impact on people and the life they live, I am -like Star Trek’s Enterprise-going where this man has not gone before.”

More about Tony Tennaro’s mission | Guest on Content Matterz | “Why This Charlotte Business Leader Creates Content”

Imagine what a group of CEOs and business owners motivated to build great businesses but having a greater purpose can do with intentional focus, shared learning, and resources. This mission is challenging and highly rewarding but not meant to do alone. The power of Peer CEOs answering the same kinds of challenges and opportunities with a common set of core values around dour Board Tables has changed lives including our own.

Tony first appeared on the Entrepreneur Perspectives podcast. You can listen to that podcast here.

  • Making Connections Through Content

Make a connection through content or do the opposite. It works either way.

In this Content Matterz podcast episode, Eric Kasimov talks with Shondell Varcianna, Founder of Varci Media.

What if your content is the way you differentiate yourself? Yeah, someone may not like it–they may not even like you. What a time-saver that could be for you. Because if for example, you are recruiting that person, they were going to find out sooner or later that you weren’t their cup of tea. Let the content be the filter. And this works the other way too–people will come to value what you say and how you say it and they will seek you out in ways you can’t even imagine. Content has that power. We see it over and over.

More about Shondell Varcianna | Guest on Content Matterz | “Making Connections Through Content”

Shondell owns and operates Varci Media. Varci is a writing company in Atlanta, Georgia that helps financial institutions get more inbound inquiries by writing blog posts that convert.

She first appeared on the Entrepreneur Perspectives podcast. You can listen to that podcast here.

  • Sharing Stories Through Podcasts

Share a story on a podcast. What happens next is fascinating.

In this Content Matterz podcast episode, Eric Kasimov talks with Mort Fertel, the CEO of SudShare.

SudShare helps is a marketplace for laundry. Both for the user and the Sudster. But they are not just a laundry company. They are a tech company. And they are a company that shares content. Their CEO appears on podcasts sharing the story of SudShare, talking about his own philosophy, the dynamics of a family business, and answering questions around all of it and more. And while doing that, people are learning about a new opportunity to work with or use SudShare. And beyond that, a listener may be inspired to do their own thing–to think, “what is possible”. And all of that and more comes from sharing stories through podcasts. The same can be said for blogs and videos and social media posts — in their own way of course. It’s the sharing of stories on a podcast and other mediums that lead to fascinating things.

  • Podcast Interviews Are More Personal Than Company Presentations

It’s simple. Podcast interviews are more personal than company presentations. In this Content Matterz podcast episode, Eric Kasimov talks with Jereon Corthout. Jeroen is the co-founder of Salesflare. We get into the essence of why Jeroen appears on podcasts, why he hosts his own podcast, and how podcasts are more personal than company presentations.

There’s leverage in podcasting (and content in general, including blogs). And that leverage if authentic includes, meeting awesome people, finding new connections, becoming a better listener, becoming a better communicator, driving new business without being sales-y, and other ancillary benefits.

This doesn’t mean a podcast interview must lead to new business. But as we often find out in business — business is personal. And what better way to start off or build a relationship than with a conversation that all involved are present for.

About SalesFlare: Salesflare is known as the Intelligent CRM. It is a simple yet powerful CRM for small businesses selling business to business.

  • Content as a Sales Tool
In this Content Matterz podcast episode, Eric Kasimov talks with Diane Tarshis, Founder of the Startup Distillery. Diane talks about how outsourcing sales is the one thing she hasn’t seen that can be outsourced.
However, as we talk about in this episode, your content is a sales tool. So the way to outsource sales is to allow content to be part of the sales process.
Often, I talk about how content is so much more than a driver of new business. And it is. Benefits of content include becoming a better communicator, practice for your listening skills, recruiting new employees, training your team, thinking through ideas, meeting new people, exploring topics of interest, and the list goes on. But yes, sometimes as Diane says, you need to drive business. And if you see content as a sales tool along with all the other benefits of content creation, then all of the sudden you have outsourced your content to leveraged media.
How should you use content as a sales tool?
I’ll give you an example: You listen to our podcast. Perhaps like the podcast. You like the sound quality, you like the conversation, you like that it makes you think, you like the music we use, you like the text you read that supports the podcast episode, and so on. That leads you to you reaching out to us to talk about our podcast production services. Maybe it wasn’t so direct. Maybe it was the fifth time you came across something of ours–either way the content you consumed led you to reach out to us about us building your new podcast. That’s content as a sales tool.
Now, what if you don’t like our podcast, to which I say, okay. That possibly saved us a lot of time. Imagine if we didn’t have this content–eventually, you would find out if you liked it or not. That saves everyone a lot of angst and us a lot of time. I see it like this–there’s an abundance of opportunities out there. If someone doesn’t like our content…next. And if someone does, great! The content does the selling. There is no convincing. And best of all, the other benefits I mentioned above and that I talk about often–they stay no matter what. So yeah use content as a sales tool, but that’s not all it is.
How does content as a sales tool work if you’re an attorney? You can talk about cases you’ve won. People hear it and then when they need something similar, they’ll reach out.
How does content as a sales tool work if you’re a therapist? You talk about mental health-related to running a business. And then a business owner reaches out to schedule a therapy session. Go check out Psychology Today and all the great content they offer. Each article is written by a therapist that is linked out to their personal profile where someone can book time with them for a session.
You see how that works. Content as a sales tool.
Thank you for listening to this Content Matterz podcast episode titled: “Content as a Sales Tool”.

  • You Can’t Always Close the Loop on Content ROI
In this Content Matterz podcast episode, Eric Kasimov talks with GreenPal Co-Founder and CEO Bryan Clayton about how you can’t always close the loop on ROI when it comes to marketing.
Eric asks Bryan this hard-hitting question of “why are you appearing on podcasts?”
As Bryan Clayton states, 99% of the time he is doing this for himself.
He enjoys it more than anyone because as he says, “you are either contracting or expanding, and sharing my philosophy, beliefs, and strategies on podcasts keep me closer to the point of expansion.”
Simply put, it keeps Bryan on his toes.
So when he or anyone for that matter is in an interview, you better be ready, whether the conversation is being recorded or not. To add to this, podcasting (and writing for that matter) is the path to better content–and ultimately to a better business and a better you. Bryan and Eric are advocates of the idea of learning through reading and listening and sharing. And with all of this comes self-accountability.
Eric has a post on the SportsEpreneur content platform on why that content platform even exists in the first place–and as it turns out, it’s self-accountability. Here’s that article: “I Have to Admit, There’s A Lot of Self-Talk In SportsEpreneur Articles”
And as the title of this specific podcast episode clearly states, none of this will give you a clear ROI (return on investment). And thus it’s scary for business owners to think content creation will help their business. But then when you take a step back and think about the things that a business owner (or founder, entrepreneur, professional, leader, aspiring individual) does spend a lot of time on that don’t equate to an obvious return on investment, it becomes clear that the action of content creation starts to make sense.
For example, what’s the ROI on company culture, what’s the ROI on a clean office, what’s the ROI on a fast computer, what’s the ROI on your relationship with your family, what’s the ROI on the book you just read?
Exactly! You don’t know. And that’s okay.

  • Blogging is Not Dead | An Audible Blog
Blogging is Not Dead is an Audible Style Blog Post from Content Matterz.

While a case was just made for starting a podcast in an article published yesterday — blogging is not dead. Far from it. A blog can even be used to create a podcast, like this one! Seriously. This podcast originated from this article. It’s an audible-style blog. You know how some people read the words and others listen to the words on say Amazon Audible? Well, some people might rather listen to your blog, or do both. That’s not to say your blog should only become a podcast where you read it out loud (it can be if you want), but it is an option. And really, your blog could be where you write through your ideas that allow you to speak more clearly and come up with better ideas.

The point is blogging works for those reasons and oh so many more (need more reasons: become a better writer, share industry insights, announce updates at your office, help people better understand how you think, search engine optimization, be a resource, train your employees, hire new employees, talk about your other interests that may be an interest to someone else…to name a few). You should blog. We do. Here are some of our blogs: KazCM Blog | SportsEpreneur Blog.
