Comparison and the discontent it brings have been around for centuries (just take a look at the Israelites if you need an example!). But our addiction to social media has thrown gasoline on the fire of comparison. Because of this comparison we're constantly falling into discontment—discontentment that romanticizes the past, resents today, and forfeits our future. How do we break this cycle? There's two ways out: practice gratitude and stop focusing on our giants. We don't have to fall into comparison and discontent—we haven't lost out on the good things of life, instead we've simply lost our focus.
