  • Episode #157: A Conversation about Solomon

Out of all the "wise guys" in the Bible, Solomon is probably the best known out of all of them. But, how did he get his wisdom, and what did he do to exercise that wisdom?

In this conversation, Aaron and Kevin discuss their understanding of wisdom and how to grow into it like Solomon.

As always we hope you enjoy this conversation.

  • Episode #156: A Conversation about the Magi

Who were the Magi? What was their "wisdom" all about? How did it differ from the wisdom of King Herod or of God?

In this week's episode, Pastor Kevin is joined by Carrie Rich - the Office Manager of SSPP - as they dive into these questions surrounding the birth of Jesus. Carrie also shares about her background and upbringing and they both engage in dissecting the "wisdom" of the world and how it differs from the "foolish wisdom of God."

    We hope you enjoy it!

  • Episode #155: A Conversation about Good News

In this week's episode Aaron and Kevin have a conversation about the good news of salvation!

As we wrap up our study of Isaiah 40:1-11, the people of God are beckoned to get up on a high mountain, lift up their voices, and proclaim the good news of salvation that they have. But, to do it without fear.

Why is it included that they should lift up their voices without fear?

Because, most people are fearful about putting themselves out there and proclaiming the good news of Jesus.

And yet, that's the reason that we have been saved. We've been saved for a purpose. To proclaim the name of Jesus Christ!

We hope you'll listen to this conversation and then start another faith filled conversation with someone else.

As always, we hope you enjoy it!

  • Episode #154: A Conversation about Entropy

In this week's episode Aaron and Kevin are having a conversation about Isaiah 40:6-8 where Isaiah describes how everything in this world is transitory. It breaks. It falls apart. It doesn't last. Even in physics there's the concept of entropy which states that there is a gradual decline of all things into disorder.

But there is one thing that lasts forever. One thing that endures even when things are falling apart. That is the Word of our God.

We hope that you'll take something you hear and go start another faith-filled conversation with someone else.

As always, we hope you enjoy it!

  • Episode #152: A Conversation about Comfort

In Isaiah 40:1-2, God speaks a word of "comfort" to the people of Israel - who are enduring very uncomfortable circumstances. The comfort He offers Israel is the same comfort He offers us - His Divine Presence, Power, and Healing that can transform us in the midst of difficult circumstances.

In this week's episode, Pastor Kevin sits down with Sierra Juntty - one of the teachers of the ELC - to talk about comfort. Sierra and Kevin share stories from their lives where they were uncomfortable and what it looked like to persevere through them.

As you listen, consider those situations that may be causing you discomfort in the present. How might you face them, using the "resources" shared in this conversation?

    We hope you enjoy it!

  • Episode #151: A Conversation about Ruth 4

In this week's episode, Aaron and Kevin are talking about Ruth chapter 4. As we get to the end of Ruth 4, we finally see that Boaz is the redeemer of Ruth, Naomi, their land, and the future generations (including Jesus himself!).

But, what is redemption? That's one of those church words that gets thrown around with others like salvation, justification, etc. It is a Biblical word/concept. As a matter of fact, it's all throughout the Bible. And, Jesus is called our "redeemer."

But, what have we been redeemed from? Redeemed to? How does that affect our daily living?

Well, those are all things talked about in this week's episode.

    We hope you enjoy it!

Jesus uses the line in Luke 10 that he is the, "One thing necessary." So, is Jesus our "one thing necessary?"

Oh - and it's the 150th episode of Conversate! Thanks for watching/listening and being part of this.

    Keep having faith-filled conversations!

We hope you enjoy this one.
