Dawn Reno Langley is a writer, theater critic, editor, writing coach, and educator, who has devoted her life to social justice issues. Langley’s novels, such as The Silver Dolphin and The Mourning Parade, examine socially relevant topics like environmental issues. Her new book, You Are Divine: A Search for the Goddess in All of Us (Llewellyn, 2022), discusses the role of female religious icons in contemporary life and how each woman embodies divine traits. She holds an MFA from Vermont College, a PhD from the Union Institute and University, and is president of Rewired Creatives, Inc.

You Are Divine explores goddesses and saints and philosophical leaders, combining my personal commentary with my scholarly research about the divine feminine persona. What we extol and celebrate in the divine feminine are characteristics that all people who identify as female embody, at one level or another. The only difference is that those elements are manifested by the divine feminine being in a state of perfection. We, on the other hand, are not perfect.

Now, more than ever, is the right time to celebrate those goddesses and heavenly beings that have female attributes. It’s time to embrace the divine in ourselves, to delight and relish in feminine strengths, to recognize the goddess within.
