Rest is lazy. Taking time off work isn't necessary unless you're deathly ill. I can't take a nap, I have too much to do. Whether you've said these statements or have heard them from your best friends, neighbors, parents... somewhere along the way you have learned that your output is a measure of success and accomplishment, but where do we draw the line? We're constantly on the go that we're not taking in what's actually happening in the world around us, within us. When your sense of urgency becomes the loss of connection to yourself, your friends, your family, and God, that's when you have to decide whether it's worth it or not. This week's episode is all about the sense of urgency and how to slow down in a world that does not want you to. We talk all about the sense of urgency (I include my personal experience in the realm of education as a career) and how to regulate your nervous system.
