Songwriter and composer David Barrett needed a break when he was 31. In a restaurant, with a stack of napkins and a pen, a song poured out of his head that, in short time, would not only become the chance he was looking for, but also the song that would be part of our collective college basketball lives.

Stephanie Stuckey is the granddaughter of WS Stuckey.

For those in the southeast, you remember the roadside, turquoise topped oasis that provided your family a break from those long road trips. Founded in the 1930's, Stuckey's grew to 350 locations by the 1970's.

In 2019, with store numbers rapidly declining,  Stephanie became CEO of the company, determined to revitalize the brand by blending nostalgia with forward thinking ideas.
