When we tell God or express to Him our concerns, one of the things His word tells us is to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path” - Proverbs 3:5-6
Leaning ‘On’ something leaves you at risks of falling should whatever you’re leaning on be removed as often you cannot see what’s happening behind you. However, when leaning forward you can see what’s happening in front of you and it’s unlikely that you will be caught off guard.
Much like leaning on our own understanding, it leaves us exposed with the risk of being caught unaware however, if we lean forward or better yet lean in to God and trust in Him, He directs our paths and we can see what’s ahead.
