Dave is not only a father, comedian, comedy producer and artist but he's also an interesting cat.  We open the show going wayyyyy back to 2018 for Dave's pic featuring his adorable daughter and how he gets her to study for spelling tests.  That leads to a conversation about jobs for kids and how to teach them work ethic.  Juliet brings up an interesting debate about what is better for kids: saving up for things or having mom and dad give you things.  The conversation takes a major left turn as we talk about first cars and if anyone has ever driven off with a gas nozzle still attached to their car before.  One of us has...wanna take any guesses on who?  We end our pod with a new bit we named Bullshit Family Lore.  So grab your favorite whiskey and join us for our last episode of Season 1 of COW.

The year is 1997 and our guest is Kathryn (a.k.a. Kat), a comedian, metal worker and jack of all trades.  We open the pod with a traumatic experience Kat had when she discovered a camera in her mom's closet and well...we'll let Kat fill you in on the rest.  Next Kat shares how she discovered her love of foundry and her start as a comedian.   If it weren't for art and her mom, Kat shares how her life could have gone down a very different road.  Kat had her fill of horrible jobs after graduation which reminds Juliet of a horrible job she also had.  If that isn't enough for you, Karla and Kat share similar stories of growing up thinking they were black.  Sound crazy?  Wait until you hear why.  So sit back and relax with a glass of your favorite whiskey and listen to another episode of COW.

Chris, Juliet's husband, shares the first picture on COW with no people in it.  Taken in 1993, Chris talks about how college degrees are mostly worthless, being homeless and how unprepared we are when we graduate from college.  He shares his MANY struggles with jobs and how there is career success if you persevere....all while drinking some pretty darned good whiskey.     

Nicks cousin, Justin, joins us and shares a picture from 1992 when he competed with the Table Mountain Volunteer Firefighters in Musters.  Who knew such a thing existed! Justin explains how he competed with his parents and even his mom was part of the team.  We discuss why Musters wouldn't fly today and the Pussification Of America.  Then we take a tangent and discuss road trips when our parents used to let us travel all over the state when we were way too young and way too poor to travel...all while drinking some darned good whiskey.  

Finally Karla and Juliet get our one listener to join us as our first guest!  Nick brings in a picture of himself with a friend at his cousin's wedding which starts us down a rabbit hole about why it's important to have grit and the optimism we feel at weddings.  We share stories about wedding toasts and Juliet and Nick discover the first time they ever got drunk was at a wedding (not the same one though).  We then finish it off with college stories and why it's important to be broke in college.  All while drinking a glass of whiskey.  This weeks whiskey is Kentucky Straight Bourbon.
