This episode my good pal Christine hops on the show to talk about friendships and how complicated they seem to be when as a girl, we don’t quite fit in with other girls but we can’t simply be one of the guys either. So where does that leave us? And is it alright to be stuck somewhere in the middle? And with a resounding effort, we remind you that yes it’s okay, and don’t you worry it gets easier to navigate.

We are not promised tomorrow, so why do we waste today? I’m only given so much energy with this body trapped by chronic fatigue, but I’m still finding adventure and joy and meaningful moments. So should you. Whatever that looks like for you, go make a memory. It’ll be worth it.

In this episode I ramble about being a decent human, a better friend and showing up with intention. We may be an instant gratification society, but there’s nothing gratifying about an empty conversation that leaves you lonely and questioning why you spoke up at all. Leave space for kindness, leave space for authenticity. It’s worth it.

Just because you can see through something doesn’t make it clear does it? We are all so busy judging and deciding what is true, we forget that our perception isn’t always reality. So let’s all take a step back from playing judge and jury shall we?

Depression is.. so different from crawling under your covers and not coming out for days at a time. It looks like that too sometimes, but just as health and life isn’t one size fits all, neither is mental health or life with depression. It’s all kinds of different than what I expected and it’s always catching me off guard. So let’s chat about it.

Let’s have a conversation about body shaming, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, unsolicited opinions, modeling and all the other things. I’m tired of the shaming and the feelings of loneliness or isolation that comes with all things body. So after being prompted many times this week, we are gonna talk about it.

I’m a mess, day in and day out. Sometimes it’s not so bad, sometimes it’s worse and sometimes it’s somewhere in the middle and I just shoot and hope I don’t miss ya know? So if you want to know a little bit of the ins and outs of being me.. here ya go.

I figured I’d give y’all a little background (the very short and condensed version) on me and all the things chronic illnesses. It’s long overdue, but will hopefully help you understand who I am and what I’m dealing with. This is part one, so stick around for part 2 next week.

Church hurt shouldn’t be a thing. But since it is, let’s chat about it. People walk away from the gospel for all kinds of reasons but I think being burned by the church is way too big of one. So let’s have a chat about how humanity occasionally does a real bad job of being like Jesus, and how we are getting in the way of Gods work when we act like idiots trying to be God and think we can do the work better than He can. Oh, and if you’re thinking, but Emily you love Jesus, you’ve never known church hurt. Do I ever have a story for you.
