Dr Hess has been part of the Westgate Family Physicians since 1998. He is board certified in family medicine. Prior to entering private practice, he spent 10 years in the U.S. Army. Dr Hess was raised in a Christian family and became a Christian at a young age. He loves family medicine because it allows him to know his patients and be part of their lives. He completed his residency from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in internal medicine. Dr. Cykert is board certified in internal medicine. After completing his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr Cykert played as a guitarist in a rock band. After touring the east coast for over twelve years, he entered medical school at the age of 33. Dr Cykert now resides in Spartanburg, SC with his wife and their son. Lisa Trout is a certified medical assistant at a urology practice in Greenville, SC. She has over a decade of experience in providing support to numerous healthcare providers and assisting with patient care. Dr. Watson is board certified in Gastroenterology/Hepatology and Internal Medicine. His special interests include colon cancer prevention, esophageal cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, inflammatory bowel disease, Hepatitis C treatment, hemorrhoid treatment, and health & nutrition. He attended Clemson University where he graduated magna cum laude from the Calhoun Honors College with a degree in Chemistry and Health Sciences. He was then accepted into the US Army’s Health Profession Scholarship Program (HPSP) and went on to receive his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC in 2004. He completed his internal medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI in 2007, then he completed a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC in 2011. 

Dr. Watson served on Active Duty in the Army for 11 years. During that time, he served overseas in both Iraq (2007-8) and Afghanistan (2013), where he received the Bronze Star Medal. He was formerly the Chief of the Gastroenterology Clinic at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA from 2011-2015 before joining Lowcountry Gastroenterology Associates in Mount Pleasant, SC in August 2015. He deployed again to Kuwait in 2018 while serving in the Army Reserves before he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2020. On a personal level, Dr. Watson is married to his medical school sweetheart, Theresa, and they have four beautiful children. In his free time, he enjoys running, cycling, reading, Bible study, and leading a marriage enrichment course with his wife.

Anthony Poole is a family medicine Physician Assistant who has been treating adult and pediatric patients in South Carolina since his graduation from MUSC's PA Program in 2009. He has spent most of his early career focused on rural health and providing care to underserved communities across the state. He is passionate about health equity and ensuring that all patients receive high quality healthcare. Clinically, he focuses on preventing chronic disease through lifestyle and behavior changes and involves patients in their plan of care. 

 Anthony was recognized as the South Carolina Provider of the Year in 2020 by the SC Primary Health Care Association and as one of Charleston's Forty Under 40 Professionals in 2020. In September of 2022, he graduated from a doctoral program through the University of Lynchburg earning his Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree. 

In addition to his clinical duties, Mr. Poole also serves as MUSC's System Director for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement. In this role, he works under the leadership of MUSC's Chief Quality Officer to ensure that all patients at MUSC receive high quality healthcare services in an environment that is safe and patient centered.
