  • A Conversation About Ego and Programming

Welcome back to the new season of Conversations with Nation! In this episode, I had the honor of interviewing LG from Meet the Brave Podcast to get a small peak into understanding the Black male ego as it pertains to their experience in this country. LG spoke about his own journey of healing and never giving in to programming that doesn't lend to the life he is creating.

  • Episode 6: The Human Behind the Art: Music Producers

In this episode I have a conversation with a friend that has been a professional music producer and song writer in the industry for about 15 years. As consumers, we often have a warped view of what it is like to be a creative and in doing so we often strip them of their humanity and treat them as a product. I wanted to know from the artist standpoint, what are the things they wish consumers considered. We get to talk about longevity in the industry, the power of music, how fans can suck, and how hard it is to have create stability.

  • Episode 5: Love, God & Losing Religion

What happens when the love we experience doesn't align with love's purest form? In this episode, I speak with a pastor about what love is, where does it come from, and the way in which religion blurs our view of it. We have an honest conversation about the discomfort associated with shedding things that do not serve our highest self and knowing that love is really that foundation of all things.

  • Episode 4: Being Black in Education Part 2

In this episode, I got the perspective of someone who has gone through the educational system as an immigrant to this country and is currently an educator. My guest moved to this country at the age of 5 with her mother and father from Africa and now has her masters, is currently working towards her PhD, and is a dean of students at a college of the arts.

As you listen you’ll notice that this conversation beautifully pivots in and out of topics not strictly about education, but also about family structure, heritage and love.
