Today I’m speaking with Soozie Heo, designer of the label Mai Mia. Mai Mia focuses on swimwear that can also be incorporated into your everyday wardrobe as layering pieces. I am so excited to pick Soozie’s brain as she has such an incredible background in the fashion industry. A Parsons alum, Soozie got her start working for Helmut Lang and Prabal Gurung in NYC. She then moved to LA and started designing for mega brands like NastyGal and Revolve. Other successes include designing all of the tour merch for the Chainsmokers - pretty cool :)
Mai Mia uses sustainable fabrics from consumer waste like fishing nets, industrial plastic waste and fabric scraps. Not only that, all pieces have SPF 50+ UV protection!

Hi guys! Welcome to 'Conversations With Tash'. On today's episode, I speak with Peruvian-born designer Esaú Yori. Launched in 2015, Esaú Yori is highly influenced by his passion for Asian culture. His pieces resemble strong tailoring, soft drapery and a unique feminine take on masculine silhouettes. From gender fluid suiting and a diverse use of fabric and detailing, I must say, Esaú is one of my favorite designers. His mantra is “The world has a window into her mind through the clothes she wears. Who she is defines how she looks.”
