She also expressed concern about a North Carolina Department of Transportation Plan to add a new road parallel to 15-501 that would connect Eastowne Drive and New Hope Commons.

She discussed some of the proposed amendments to the Orange County budget, and the Commissioners meeting again on Thursday night to further discuss amendments. She also discussed a memorandum of understanding to help fund the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness.

He also discussed many of the community Pride events coming up in Carrboro and Carrboro. He also discussed councilmember Barbara Foushee's announcement that she will run to be Carrboro's next mayor. Chair of the Orange County Commissioners Jamezetta Bedford spoke with 97.9 The Hill's Andrew Stuckey on Wednesday, May 31st.  She discussed some proposed amendments to the county budget, as well as a public budget presentation coming up on Thursday. She also discussed a proposal to rezone 84 acres near Lawrence Road and US70 for a prep school and some athletic facilities. They concluded by talking about the upcoming UPROAR arts festival coming to Orange County in July.

Hillsborough Mayor Jenn Weaver spoke with 97.9 The Hill's Andrew Stuckey on Tuesday, May 30th.  She discussed Memorial Day activities including the county's service at the Seymour Center. She also discussed this weekend's upcoming Flush-Fest, a private fundraiser for better sanitation in South America. She also shared the latest on the Town's plans to build a pocket skate park sometime during 2024. She also previewed a multi-modal transportation corridor study in Hillsborough.

He also shared the latest on a development at South Green, and another proposed development north of Calvander. He also discussed some upcoming events in the community, including Friday night's Freight Train Blues Music Series at the Carrboro Town Commons, and some Memorial Day events in the Carrboro area.

Included will be an update of  the climate action plan and a greater focus on minority neighborhoods. She also discussed area high school robotics teams that recently competed at state and national competitions. She also discussed the UPROAR Arts festival coming to Orange County in July. Finally, the board approved three new cites to be designated as historic.
