Alhamdulilah, Ramadan is just few days from now and I have been preparing myself to have the best Ramadan experience by getting into the spiritual mindset .

Why should we prepare for Ramadan, is just fasting after all?

Ramadan is more than our regular fasting, it’s a month of change, mercy and hope for those who seek for it. It’s a month of destiny changer, the month of love, peace and unity. The month we all strive to better ourselves , so it’s not just fasting , there is more to Ramadan than fasting.

As someone who has been fasting for the past 20 years , preparing for Ramadan before it starts has been the best way to start Ramadan, so that when Ramadan comes , I’m bettering myself in the month and not struggling.

During the holy month I will be sharing, things that have helped me have a wonderful and a life changing Ramadan in the past .

NAVIGATING EXPAT LIFE AS A MUSLIM FAMILY.

I was in conversation with the Hamzat.

Ruqoyyah is an agricultural extension researcher who is passionate about bridging the gap between rural farmers and extension agents. She enjoys creating food vlogs, she’s a hairstylist and also a mother.

Abdulhameed is a PhD researcher who is working in an engineering field. When he’s not doing laboratory work, he enjoys watching football, surfing the Internet and spending quality time with his family.

Ruqoyah and Abdulhameed are my first ever couple on converse with Munirah podcast. And our conversation was thought provoking, engaging and enlightening.

As I listened to them narrate their journey as an expat of three different countries. I was learning , unlearning and relearning from their experiences as an expat Muslim family.

Because From my experience of relocating from one state to another within my country, I knew first hand that each state have their own custom or the do’s and don’t’s , the way of living and you have to adjust to how things are been done in each state , but without neglecting your practice as a Muslim .

Because no matter where we find ourselves as a Muslim, we continue to uphold our responsibilities and principles as a Muslim.

I and Maryam talked extensively on how Tahajjud is one of the most beneficial non obligatory prayer , which Is also one of Allah’s greatest blessing and mercy to mankind, if we take advantage of it .

Because every night, when one-third of the night remains, the lord descends to the lowest heaven and says “Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?"

This is one episode you sure don’t want to miss, especially if you’re a Muslim and also this is your sign to observe Tahajjud if you haven’t observe it in a long time.
