At times we face urgent desires or fears–maybe we want to escape a situation, numb ourselves with food or distractions, or bark out a social media message. I contend there is something just underneath those desires we always miss when we give in to our compulsions. But, we can find it if we interrupt or postpone-if for but a moment-the compulsion to get the object or aim of our desire, through a certain kind of conversation.

I'll also reveal what we are most afraid of (in many cases) and what is usually at stake, instead. Plus, I'll issue a simple and effective challenge (which is also the "soul school homework") that can truly develop resiliency, hope, composure, and courage.
