‘If we don’t exchange by Friday, I am pulling out of the transaction’.
As conveyancers, we have all heard that from our clients, haven’t we?
With the pressure to complete conveyancing transactions ever-increasing as we get closer to 31 March 2021 (and no SDLT extension in sight), in this week's conveyancing matters chat, Stu and Lorraine talk about the pros and cons of ultimatums from clients.
On the one hand, an ultimatum from a client can focus the minds of the parties in the chain, but are they effective? And what should the conveyancer advise their client?
Stu and Lorraine share their experience on this issue and give some advice of their own to conveyancers.
They also go off on a little rant about the fact that conveyancers are still being blamed for all of the delays in the conveyancing process at this difficult time…yawn..yawn…
We hope that you enjoy our chat – feel free to get in touch to give us your views and experience – what do you tell clients when they want to impose an ultimatum?
Remember, this is just a chat and our opinions, not advice!
