Luke 7: 1-10, 11-17 Neil Woodbury

In the 2 passages in Luke 7 that we will be studying today, we see the delegated power of the Father in Heaven upon His Son Jesus of Nazerath.

I. Jesus Rewards the faith of the Centurion

a. Read Luke 7: 1-10

b. The Centurion (commander of 100 men) believed Jesus could heal his bondsman with a word (v. 7). How many Jewish people thought the same as the Roman Centurion?

c. Read Heb. 11:6; “Without faith, it is impossible to please God” – so why is mankind at war with God? “They don’t believe His Word”

II. Jesus has compassion on the mother of the dead son.

a. Read Luke 7: 11-17

b. They glorified God – so clearly seen the power of God through Jesus His Son, the Messiah. This is the witness from Heaven.
