Hebrews, The Final Remembrance, # 2

Hebrews 11: 1-25 Neil Woodbury

I think we can agree that this epistle we call Hebrews was written to benefit the Hebrew people who had trusted Jesus of Nazareth as their Savior – and put aside the things of the covenant under the Law and promises of God. To be born out of Heaven, through the Gospel of Jesus Christ – through the obedience to God’s Terms of Pardon!

This text is one teaching us to not despise God’s chastening – remember the past events and do not forget the promises of the future.

Through Faith We Can Endure

The writer of the Hebrews letter gives us another way to be thankful for the work of Christ, the Author of Our Salvation.

I. No excuse for faithlessness

II. Consider Jesus the Christ, the Son of God

Remembering the Christ at Pentecost

The old hymn says, “All about Jesus would I know…” – Well, friends and brethren, Pentecost A.D. 31 was all about Jesus and salvation through His Blood.

I. First Gospel Message, from the Apostles

II. This is the message the Apostles Preached!

Faith as God Requires It

“Faith is Trust and trust is a must, to the Child of God”, G.E.H.

Three elements of Faith;

1. A fully convinced acknowledgement of God’s revelation through His Word

2. A self-surrendering fellowship with the Truth (adhesion)

3. A fully assured and answering Trust in the God of Heaven and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ

This faith as the Christian has goes far beyond the Greek concept of just a trusting nature.
