What a day! I started the morning (accidentally) sobbing to Kasey Musgraves before talking to a group of nonprofits about real estate for three hours!

Catching up from a three-day weekend that had nothing to do with Christopher Columbus...or as we say in Texas, what holiday?!

We're keeping it light! I don't have much to talk about today...but then again, I say that often and still manage to do a whole half-hour show!

It was my second day on the Optavia diet...and I didn't die! In fact, it was a much better day than yesterday and, to my surprise, I was super productive at work. Also, it was discovered yesterday that my beloved teenage son left sushi in his locker over our Fall break. They had quite a shock when school returned to session!

I saw Elton on Friday....well, sorta. We'll get into that. Also, I'm on a new diet starting today...and I'm full of space food and enough gas to power Dallas.

Some days, I'm a walking contradiction. A dash of "do as I say, not as I do" with a smidge of "nothing will make you happy." Today's one of those days!

Today's the day to give...money, time, f*cks. Whatever you have to give today, I'm sure there's someone who'll take it! ;) 

Final preparations are underway for this weekend's Black Tie Dinner, including wardrobe "fittings" and Spanx test runs. Also, some final thoughts on the Queen's funeral and my unexpectedly large live fish purchase. Oh, the things I do for my kids!

Today, the world bid a final farewell to the much loved monarch Queen Elizabeth. The pomp and pageantry didn't disappoint!

I was the guest teacher about public speaking at my kids' school today. If I was successful at only one thing, it was unintentionally embarrassing my kids...but that's a bonus, really.
