The federal government has given up a multi-year campaign to host next year's COP31 climate summit, ceding hosting rights to Türkiye.

While the details of a deal with Türkiye still being finalised, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen says he will still lead negotiations at the summit.
