Bobby and Sarge live in Central Florida and the county they live in is changing. Slowly, portions of the county infrastructure is moving to a more centralized location. First, it was animal control. A unit under the authority of the county. Them=n, it's taken over by the Sheriff/ Now, its dispatch centers. More and more agencies are terminating their own dispatch and turning it over to the county. The Sheriff started his own police and corrections academies and is currently building his own training center. Will this take over the local State College that currently employs qualified instructors? Will the Sheriff underscore the costs for academies and bring in the municipal agency's cadets under their training umbrella? Will this be the death nail to the police academy? It appears the Sheriff would like to metro the entire county under his agency. Has this been spoken in public? No, it's speculation but the truth be told, the action of the Sheriff makes the option viable. Is this a good thing? Let us know what you think. With Florida removing Flock cameras from State roads, will this stop the vast surveillance state we currently live in? Our phones, our vehicles, our watches, our governments all spy on us. If you drive a newer vehicle, it sends data to the manufacturer which then gets disseminated to the highest bidder. What can we do to stop it? At the time of this episode airing, Counties are removing Flock from State roads and moving them just off the right aways so they're no longer on State Road property. Skirting around the law is still breaking it. What say you? In this week's episode, Bobby and Sarge discuss the training one must go through to jump from corrections and LE. Being instructors in both LE and Correction academies, Bobby and Sarge bring up interesting insights on the training. They mirror each other but Police need more high liability training than corrections (Driving, traffic stops, and patrol procedures) yet corrections have better understandings of deescalation and Defensive Tactics (ground fighting). Do corrections make better cops and do cops make better correction officers? Interesting conversation on the difference.

FLOCK! It's everywhere. On State roads, On the highways, side streets and even in the Home Depot parking lots. The State of Florida has suspended all contracts with Flock, but will that actually stop the system from spying? Technology has gotten so good that now, AI equipped cameras can be placed on existing light poles and monitor your location and build a profile on you without your knowledge. It's being done and we've read the reports where the police have arrested, detained and questioned law abiding citizens for crimes they did not commit. In fact, there is proof that these AI cameras have read plates wrong and people have been stopped and pulled from their vehicles at gunpoint. The truth is, the technology is only going to get better, so it stands to reason, we are in this and there's no way out. Our only hope is for the people who run for election, know their oath and only stay within the confines of our Constitution. Bobby and Sarge won't be holding their breath. What say you? Let us know. Ever notice how people have become intitled? How they believe they are intitled to the fruits of the labor of those who work? We have people who drive foreign cars, wear expensive clothing. Own expensive jewelry and keep their hair and nails immaculate while purchasing drinks and snacks on their government issued EBT card? Yeah, those people. Why is this still a thing? Why haven't we, the people. demanded accountability for our tax money being used to garner votes? It's degusting and an insult to everyone who gets up and puts on their work boots and goes to work, only to have the government demand their fair share of the person's labor so they can handed off to these intitles people, who are able to work but don't because the government hands them our profit. Have you noticed that on the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on America, it seems we have forgotten who attacked us and what they stand for? Islam has taken over some cities and has infiltrated their anti-American ideology into local, state and national government? People who openly speak death and the destruction of the western way of life, tell us every day that they will abolish the Constitution and make Sheria Law the law of the land. They are literally telling us what they are going to do, yet our citizens sit by and yearn for inclusion and fairness. We have the LBGTQ community marching in solidarity with supporters of HAMMAS. They march while chanting for the death of capitalism. The same people they march with would gladly throw them off a high building for being homosexual because they believe it would secure their place in paradise. People better wake up and start listening to what the Islamist are telling us. Remember, if someone says they want you to die, you better believe them. What say you? In this week's episode, Bobby and Sarge bring up the topic of the thin blue line. How, in the past, the police watched out for themselves, to the point that criminal behavior was overlooked. Now, things have changed. We see reports of officers being fired for domestics, driving while intoxicated and many other crimes. Yes, the penalties are more severe for officers. How? When a banker gets a DUI, he doesn't lose his banking job. When an Officer commits a battery upon their spouse, they get fired. When a citizen does it, they go back to their livelihood, Officers are now being held accountable and neither Bobby nor Sarge are against it. In fact, both applaud the holding of our police accountable as a good thing. Is the thin blue line fracturing or is it maturing and now protecting the good cops? Let us know what you think. Bobby brings up a great question in this episode, should college degrees be needed to do the job? Sure, some will say (and I've heard this from many colleagues who got their degree in public administration or business) that getting a degree shows you are able to finish what you started. Isn't a 30-year career the same thing?? Sarge isn't convinced a college education makes you a better leader or smarter than the high school grad who went to the academy rather than college. Like Sarge's father said to him 50 years ago, "your generation will have the most highly educated burger flippers". He wasn't wrong. What say you? Is a college education important in police work? Today's police equipment has come a long way. When Sarge started back in the early 80's, it was a revolver, 18 rounds of ammo, a slap and a pen. you got your vehicle, radio and rifle when you finished squad meetings. Now? It's take-home cars, cameras, computers with specific programs that write your reports, citations and arrest reports then prints them out in the car. Writing things by hand, like citations and arrest reports are neanderthal to most officers today. Penmanship is no longer needed. Weapon systems have changed and the accessories that come with them now cost more than the weapon itself. Let us know what changes have happened since you entered the profession.
