In our careers, both Bobby and Sarge have known officers who have used chemical pharmaceuticals to help with certain ailments that they developed over long careers. How do these medications affect them is key to it being a problem on duty. With that, how many have been injured, both physically and mentally and sought treatment, only to get addicted and then crash and burn? How many leaders in law enforcement have known of the issue but instead of reaching out and saving the officer, they watch and then pounce once the officer crashes. Here we go again. Dealing with those with disabilities and they know it. Should the police grant certain considerations when dealing with disabled persons? Depends. However, when ordering a suspect out of a car and he tells you he is unable because he can't use his legs, do you rip them out of the car anyway for non-compliance?
