Why should we be persistent in prayer when we don't get immediate answers? Because maybe it is not His will, maybe it is not His timing, and maybe we don't know what is best. We have to keep praying and keep praying until we know one way or another.

The sin that was once holding you down in your life is gone. You live a life in which you are constantly in tune with the Holy Spirit and denying your flesh.

This idea of sanctification and means this thing is set apart. Sanctification is the process of becoming more like Jesus. It is being changed from the inside out so that we come to genuinely love what God loves and love like God loves.

Liturgy is the work of the people, responding to the work of God. Liturgy gives us a shared language but it is not identical expression. The goal is not uniformity or unanimity. The goal is unity around the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Over a course of time, she kept asking who Jesus is to me and what does He mean to me and I realized I had never made that proclamation for myself. I just assumed I was a Christian because I sat in church every Sunday and I went to a Christian school.

When a Holy God comes, something has to give. When God has moved mightily throughout the history of the church, it is always characterized by prayer and repentance- humility.

Jesus did not answer their question with a question. He did not answer it at all, at least not definitively. Time was not His concern nor was politics. The mission was Jesus' concern.

We've been invited to be a part of the people of God; we've been offered immortality and everlasting life; we've been welcomed into a group of people that includes the prophets and apostles themselves, and not because we could afford to pay the dues- we couldn't.

It is our responsibility to pray that God's will be done. It is not our way, it is God's way.

Let's put this on because it's what God has already been doing. It's who we are: Rooted. Restful. Relational. Life with God on behalf of the world.
