In Psalm 139 the psalmist stands amazed and humbled at the vast knowledge of God. Given God's knowledge the psalmist prays the wicked acts of wicked men happening in God's complete sight would be stopped. He prays that God would show him a glimpse of who He is so that he might be pure in the sight of God.

Letting the goodness of God open our eyes to eternal priorities.

We can praise God for how He has benefited our souls, our covenant brothers and sisters and the entire cosmos.

Jesus continues to teach His disciples, while keenly aware that His words fall upon the ears of Jewish religious leaders intent on discrediting and possibly destroying Him. Jesus puts forth qualities that characterize His true followers, Kingdom citizens.

In Hebrews 2 we see the logic of the gospel -- (1) Jesus for a little while was made lower than the angels (2) Jesus suffered to cleanse His brethren (3) Jesus paid our pardon.

Jesus suffers as the forsaken one all while fully trusting in the strength of His Father. As such, our Lord offers all His followers a picture of how to walk faithfully in the midst of suffering.

Jesus teaches His followers to use temporal money for an eternal investment into the Kingdom of God.

God in Charge, God unmoved, God is Holy

Jesus teaches us that our God is a merciful, seeking Father. Those who follow Jesus identify with the need for mercy and find joy in seeing those who are lost finding rescue and hope.
