From Isaiah 57. This chapter describes some awfully wicked things the people of Israel had done. But it also gives an offer of healing and restoration to those who would be contrite - not unlike the story of the prodigal son.

From Isaiah 56. In his mercy, God planned to reveal his righteousness. On our own, we were all unrighteous. May we listen to God's plan, as he has given an invitation for people to come to him. He will solve our problem of unrighteousness.

From Isaiah 55. God invites us to belong to him. He invites us into an everlasting covenant. In this new life with him, we are to learn his ways and his thoughts, because they are better than ours. When these things happen, God will cause us to flourish.

This is the sermon from our Easter service, from Isaiah 52:13-53:12. Amazingly, the book of Isaiah, written about 700 years before Jesus was born, tells of both the death and resurrection of Jesus. We can have healing and salvation because he died for our sins, but was also raised to life.

From Isaiah 49:1-52:12. In these chapters, we read more about the servant of the Lord, who would bring salvation to the ends of the earth. There is good news! God told us ahead of time what he would do to rescue us from sin and death.

From Isaiah 45-48. In these chapters, God revealed his plans to rescue his people from captivity. It can stand as a word picture of how God wants to rescue us. Only the one true God can rescue like this, and he told us ahead of time how he planned to do it.

From Isaiah 41-44. In this section, we are introduced to the "servant" theme, a major theme in the coming sections of Isaiah. We are also reminded of God's strength in comparison to idols. He is our redeemer. May we return to him.
